Wolf's Rain OVA ending

I've checked everywhere to find out what the ending really means (like on wikipedia)...but no such luck. And I'm not talking about the obvious.
I don't get how in the ending of Wolf's Rain, the wolves seemed to have been turned into humans. :/ What do I mean by that? Tsume is shown riding a motorcycle (wolves can't do that), Hige is shown eating in front other pedestrians (he would usually find a back alley), and Toboe is shown holding/petting a kitten (A wolf can't do that either. Plus, Toboe used to be scared of cats.) Kiba is the only one that I think is still a wolf. This would make sense, because the ending resembles the opening theme, where it's the same raining city with Kiba shown as the only one of the four wolves actually shown as a wolf. If I'm correct, why did Tsume, Hige, and Toboe become human? Maybe I'm reading too much into this...

Well, all I can really say is that the show tells that wolves evolved into people people (not just to hide and fit in). So if you think about it that way...

That's what I thought too (and made me a little upset), but check wikipedia. It says that in the show, wolves supposedly created humanity, not human beings.

That's not right...there is NO WAY Kiba would have given up his "wolf's pride" and become a human. Same with Tsume. (Kiba even hated the idea of looking like one.)

I think it's just supposed to imply that the wolves are more capable.

Correct. :)

-_- Yeah, I know. That's why I put "And I'm not talking about the obvious".
And Blue didn't come back. Everything else I could have put up with if they had brought back Blue, the best character in the series, along with everybody else. They'd have been better off leaving it at the original "ending" and not bothering with the OVA. Wow. A "reset button." That took a lot of thought and effort, I'm sure. Color me impressed.
Agreed 100%.
The OVA ending felt like garbage. The first few OVA episodes were superb and were my favorites (despite the fact that they shouldn't have killed everyone off like Final Destination. It was rediculous how everyone died like swatted flies). Cher, Quent, and Toboe's death were very well done and sent me to tears.

But once at the final episode, it all feel apart. Tsume's death was a little interesting (dieing from a past wound that he got when he saved Toboe in ep. 4), but was way to subtle, just like Blue and Hige's death. And Blue was simply forgotten altogether! My favorite character is Blue and she was forgotten! The fact that she didn't make it to whatever that cheap Paradise is is dumb. I just wish that in the end, everyone made it to Paradise. And a real Paradise at that, not starting over the entire world. That's not Paradise. That's just miserable. (which is why Toboe is my second favorite character, because he dreams of a correct Paradise... :/ )

And about Cheza: she got very annoying at the end. I only like her for her Song of Sleep melody.

Just a little question though...is Blue in the opening? It looks like she is running across a railroad. Is this her or just a shaded Kiba? If it's her, then she really did make it to that place with the other wolves.

Interesting... I just finished the entire series...
I thought it was odd as well with the whole thing with the wolves back in the city... I woulda liked it a lot better if they had shown the crew in the real paradise with mountains and stuff..but no they go to a cruddy messed up city!! I was rather dissapointed however this anime still hits my top 5. I liked it very much
