Yeah that was the first one. There was also the other Tokko one where the guys are cleaning the bathroom. I can't remember the lines from that one, but I remember it was funny.

Yeah, it must be embarrassing for my sixteen-year-old kid to explain to friends that his DAD is the reason there's so much anime and manga laying around the house. I need to keep in mind most households don't have weirdos like me technically in charge.

The Noein bumper,"Mom's on the floor drunk" and the Tokko opera bumper were both good.

As far as the shows themselves go,I can't wait for more of Tokko to find out about
the blonde lieutenant chick.I have a feeling she's not exactly human, especially after the way she licked the main character.

The shows are good so far. I'll give them a waiting period before I start saying anything more.

My only concerns last night were the uncomfortable Sister-parading-herself-in-front-of-brother thing in Tokko and the vaguely Elfin Lied-esque beginning to Tokko. Hopefully they don't push these items too much farther.

Umm yeah those disturbed me as well. You know when you actually have a sister you do feel really about watching those scenes of the show. So I'll just avert my eyes when the time comes. But she isn't my sister so Im not sure I will have to, but just for the sake of morality and a christian mind I will avert my eyes.

What I want to know is why Yuu in Noein thought he was going crazy. He seemed almost like a Shinji type! I mean, yeah, his mom was kind of mean, but he should've studied harder!

Huh. I never thought about it that way. I wonder if it does make a difference how scenes like that are perceived, depending on if the viewer (or the writer) actually has a sister or not. Maybe if you didn't actually grow up with a sister of your own, you imagine it's like having some random girl around the house.

I'm not sure how I would have reacted if one of my sisters ever acted like that, but I'm very sure it isn't in the standard Anime embarrassed-kid fashion. She probably would have received a very angry chewing out.

Umm yeah, its like having your mom doing that to you in case you were wondering. I was just giving an example because if you have a sibling who you know how the act and their character you would be weirded out of your mind. Believe me you would not enjoy it thats for sure unless she was a step sister or something like that. And plus christians should conform from the world. Sorry to sound like a goody twoshoes but its just not right. And still even if the girl was some stranger girl its not good to do that as well. And what sister does that to her brother anyway, usually sisters would be disgusted with their brothers but now its like Im talking from his(The main character in Tokko) friend's point-of-view. Well lets just bury this subject in the ground now.

What I found interesting is that the sister's name is actually Saya and that they both are police officers.
I think she only did it to shock him awake.Though Saya does come across as
being out going.

My feelings on the bumpers remain mixed. In principle, I still don't think it fits th mood of the shows all that well, and I don't like how the anime block gets treated differently than the other, "real" shows. That said, some of e'm really are kind of funny. "Hot and cold running AWESOME" is going to be in my vocabulary for a whole. I could do without the more derogatory "Oh, those crazy Japanese" ones, though.

As for the shows... I really want to like Noein. Given a few more episodes, I actually might. For now, though, I can only feel my usual burning hatred for anime that blow their entire first episode on incomprehensible piles of unanswered questions.

*deep cleansing breaths*

Seriously, it was NOT an act of scheduling genius to put Noein at the beginning of the programing block. Think how many "normal" people must have watched 'till the first commercial break, though "I have NO idea what's going on" and switched over to CSI or something.

On a positive note, though, this is one PRETTY show! Usually I don't like anime that blends 2D and 3D animation since they tend to point out each other's flaws more than complement each other, but Noein is SEAMLESS. I just wish the character designs were nicer.

As for Tokko... Nope. Thanks for trying, though.

Now Macross Plus I'm psyched about. I own The Movie, but I'm already liking the series better. THIS is what SciFi should have put at the front of Ani-Monday. Think how many viewers of the "I don't know much about this anime stuff, but that Cowboy Bebop was kind of cool" variety it would pull in. (I guess they put it last since it's going to run out of episodes first, but still)

Noein has enough of a good pedigree for me to give it a chance.

Oh, I agree. I was really looking forward to Noein and will definitely be watching the coming episodes. I just wish things hadn't started that way.

I meant what I said when I described the beginning as "Shades of Elfen Leid" . For anyone who doesn't know, that means they had to write extra money into the budget for thousands of gallons of excess red ink.

Apperently on Toon Zone, its about maybe 50/50 who hated Macross Plus saying how boring it is (which there mostly a bunch of noobs who grew up sucking on the Digimon and Pokemon bottle for far too long), which is rather sad.

Tokko, was just a waste of time somewhat. The "Ani-Jedi" skit summed up that series in a nut shell.

Noein has potential, but im not really that interested in watching anymore, im not in the mood to watch kids chase after ghost.

So to sum up Ani Monday for the next month is 2 kids shows and a show that has grown up stuff in it...

Don't give up on Noein just yet. I don't like handing out spoilers, but I will just say you won't be watching kids chase after ghosts. That is utterly not what this story is about.

Tokko has only 13 episodes. Macross Plus is 4 OVA's, I think. And NOein has 24 episodes.

Oh yeah Ive seen advertising saying that that movie will be on dvd sorta like what they did for GITS:SAC-SSS.

OFF TOPIC, NONANIME RELATED-I know that this is way off topic and probably shouldn't be here. But I can't wait for the Twilight Zone maration these few days for the Fourth of July on the Scifi channel. They do it every year, and thats what I like about it.

Well, no matter how well the shows on Sci-Fi do, there will still be some anime they won't run, so CN doesn't have to worry too much. After all, any network that will run Super Milk-Chan will run most anything.

Oh man I hated that show. Probably the worst anime I ever saw. And what was up AS airing Fooly Cooly every chance they got? It was a okay anime, but why did they air it so much. They should of just stuck with Lupin the 3rd. Which is a good classic anime. Sorry for talking about CN here and not Sci-fi.

The ratings game. FLCL has done well for Adult Swim in the ratings dept.

The last thing that I heard, Adult Swim had pick up some more eps of Lupin the 3rd and at one time, it was going to come back later this year.

But now, the 1963 version of Astro Boy will start airing on Adult Swim on July 14th, but that is being talk about in this thread.

Sci Fi's deal is with Starz network that owns the copyright to the anime they air on
Ani-Monday.This is one reason you will only see particuliar anime, for now, being aired on Ani-Monday.Another reason is that it is the Sci Fi Channel after all so
the shows have to have some element of Sci Fi/Fantasy/Horror to them, much like the original Anime Unleashed was mainly devoted to tech and Sci Fi.
