What anime are you watching?
well, i took Eric the Fred's suggestion and tried out the first episode of tokyo majin. i can't say that it's a really great series yet, but i will watch the second episode.

I had forgotten that the first episode is very odd. It sets up the series and it intros the characters, but it gives absolutely no explanations. The second ep is a flashback to two months before, explaining where the 'powers' are coming from. By three episodes in, things start making better sense. I suspect this sort of writing works better on Japanese audiences than Western audiences. Not many American shows would make you wait three weeks before you get what's happening.

I saw episode 2 of Record of Lodoss War OVA('Blazing Departure')yesterday.
Basically it's Parn's backstory although they also introduce the other main characters from episode 1 as well.
So..umm..you save your village from attack and they throw you out..what's with that?
btw:I should say that there are,as far as I know,2 versions of Record of Lodoss War and the one I have is the OVA which if I understand right takes place before the Tv series version.

yes. i just finished episode 2 and things make much more sense now. that was one of the reasons why i didn't think the first episode was all that great. the series is actually quite interesting. the action is pretty nice and the animation is very smooth. the character's are almost instantly likable. the series has a somewhat negative, or depressing tone to it, but it's still quite interesting.

yep. i'm really eating through this series. however, i feel that the series sometimes fails to give the viewer details. one minute, the characters would be eating ramen at a shop, the next minute they would be confronting a massive demon. there are just some times when the story jumps around and it can get somewhat confusing and/or frustrating.

Well due to our power getting knocked out due to a storm on Friday I wasn't able to watch the DVD of the second Inuyasha movie as I planned on doing then.Yesterday

anyways, just a warning but...you may dislike the ending. my advice is, read the manga after you've finished the anime series. the manga is SUPERIORLY greater in comparison to the anime. unfortunately, it's also a bit more graphic...

"Ghost Hunt". It's very recent, and I hope the legal release does a better job of translation (my Japanese is too poor to follow an anime, but I know enough to know the fansubbers are taking some serious liberties with the script.) However, the anime itself is quite good. This one will definitely get licensed.
No serious problems with it, except the obvious one of, whenever Anime deal with spirits and ghosts, it's naturally from a non-Christian perspective. One character that some may have an issue with is the Catholic exorcist, who doesn't bat an eyelash over working with all these theologically questionable situations, but my response to that is, neither do the Buddhist monk or the Shinto miko. Heh. Guess it must be a work of fiction.
Latest purchases: "Demon Hunter Yohko" (always wanted a copy of this), "Prefectural Earth Defense Force", and Fumoffu.

A little new stuff, and some old stuff...
I've finished 'Ghost Hunt' (and curious if they plan to do a second season. It was an open-ended conclusion). Final analysis, very good series, but very frightening in a few spots. The worst was when a psychic character relived someone's murder from the victims POV in one of her dreams. That was a moment Hitchcock would have been proud of, and the subsequent psychological effects on the character were well-done too.
Final analysis: this isn't a show for the younger crowd. In fact, despite a pleasant lack of fan-service and other low-brow ratings inflators, I'm afraid I would have to call this 16+.
Currently tackling the "Devil Hunter Yohko" series. Now this is a pretty good example of too much fan-service screwing up what could have been a good series.

The thing is, I had seen bits and pieces of Yohko before, and didn't see anything to justify a "Mature" rating. Now that I'm seeing the whole thing, I know what's up. It isn't the story itself, which would have done quite well as a general audience series, it's the occasional over-the-top fanservice they sprinkled here-and-there.
If it were a live-action, MPAA would have given this a PG13, but anytime there is relatively detailed upper-body nudity, raters like ANN tend to go ahead and stick 'Mature' on it. I don't disagree with the practice.
