Kateikyoshi Hitman Reborn!

Postby Puguni » Wed Jun 13, 2007 11:10 am

This show makes me happy, but I'm so envious of the people who can afford to go out and buy the manga, because apparently the manga is superior.

It's about this guy named Tsuna who's a failure at life and extremely wimpy, but apparently is the next in line to be the boss of the Vongola family. The family sends this tutor to help Tsuna toughen up. His name is Reborn and he's a baby. XD

I really like the characters in this show!!!! :DDDD So many cool bishounennnnss~ There also some really strange characters to boot, like the baby characters.

In the beginning, it's really more of a slice of life show, but the action comes later, or so I've heard. Not a lot of people like it because it caters to small boys..so it's not as complex or more violent as it should be...but I think it's still cool. It's a shounen comedy type anime. I like it because of the humor.

This is the SECOND OP and if this doesn't convince you...too bad...because it convinces me to stick with it. XD <3 <3 <3

Oh yeah, and the manga is already licensed, so I would check it out.

Sorry I didn't reply~ I didn't get my mangas until yesterday!

Well, usually, manga is better than anime, with the exception of Princess Tutu, and I'd say the manga is better, just because there are certain subtleties in the manga that aren't in the anime. Actually, the anime is almost spot on with the manga, just more cleaned up, which isn't saying much actually, just less blood.

I found that the Viz translation was ok. Probably the most noticeable thing is how censored the curse words are. Seriously! Not one single curse word, and it is quite obvious that there should be some. "Great Groundhogs?" What? They also use "Gad!" which is also weird. I mean, I'm not complaining, but it's really funny.

well, if the manga takes a change of focus and has more action (and less comedy) later on in the series, i might try it again.

I read a little bit of the manga and watched a few of the anime episodes. My main complaint with it is that it spends 7 or 8 volumes doing character introductions and sort of pointless comedic stories and then it suddenly decides to shift to a more action/fighting-oriented title. So, while I might read more when I have time and enjoy the fights and whatnot, I somehow doubt it will ever be a favorite of mine as it takes so long to have a plot kick in.
That opening is quite catchy though.
While it hasn't gained very much popularity in the US currently, it's been really popular in Japan as of late, although still behind One Piece, Naruto, and Bleach.

The reason I like the show so much is because of the characters, really. I suppose people expect a lot from a shounen title.

Sorry sorry for the double posts, but OH MAN, reborn anime is going by manga so far in the Kokuyo Arc, which means it's getting good. This is me encouraging everyone to find out about Reborn.

;^; Enough about Bleach, Death Note, D.Grayman, One Piece...Reborn! ;A; there's just something about it that gets me hooked. Maybe it's because I'm a girl, lol.

Umm, another plug. Forgive me for constantly double posting, but this really is a great show. The Varia arc is exquisite. Please pleeeease give it a chance. ;3; The characters are fantastic, even the main character, who toughens up considerably. Some people are put off by the slice-of-life episodes, but to me, it shows that their life isn't about fighting all the time.
