Style gone?

Hey everyone-
You may have (or will soon) noticed some layout changes around here. This is due to an emergency upgrade made by our one and only Britmaster, Noz, because of a number of insecurities in the system. Don't worry, everything will be back to normal (or better-than-normal) soon. Thank you again to everyone who pm'ed, emailed, prayed or IM'ed your support of us during the hacking. We really appriciate having such an affectionate forum of members to serve.

I was a little confused when I got back on here, and the amount of light [white, you moron (refering to self of course, I am not vampire)] hurt my eyes (Either I have been on the computer too long or that I have gotten to used to the darker format). At least there is one good thing.
No more Javascript problems! Now I don't need to copy and paste everything from Wordpad!!!
Haven't used the bananas in a long time.

I actually like it, change is good sometimes, its like desktop wallpaper: after looking at it a million times you just feel the need to make a switch.
Thanks to the staff for all your hard work again guys, you truely are a blessing.

It does the job. I find the style somewhat irrelevant, but this is fine too. I'll be glad to see another style back when security issues have been covered.

You know, I really wanted to redo the HSR "system is down" deal in flash and post it on the main site when we first went off line, but I just didn't have the time. ><

You know Volt, maybe instead of complaining about this new layout, try to enjoy it while it's up. Personally I like it...it's nice having the admin tools on a little pulldown menu at the top. (hint: I think that's something we should take with us from this format Noz). And the colors are very soothing. So like others have said, it's not permanent...just remember too that it's easy to forget how much work it takes to get something like this running. I'm grateful forever to Noz for being able to keep this place in such smooth working order and doing so many of the complex things I would not be able to do, and for that, I feel we all owe him a great deal of respect for pouring as much time and effort as he has into this and be less quick to complain.

The new format is a bit... awkward, but it doesn't look hard to get used to. There a few things I like about this new layout, but the older one I still prefer more. I hope the changes run smoothly and job on handling things after the attack.

Eh... I don't really care for the 'all white' layout, but since it's temporary, I guess I can deal with it for a while.

The general layout will take some getting used to, but I absolutely love the colors; this place looks just like Anime Angels now! ^_^

When I saw Vbulletin image first upload on the top, I was "Yikes, hacked again!! Oh noooo.." But when everything uploaded, "Phew..."
Hey, I think this is great! It uploads A LOT faster, which is a big plus for.........dial up users like me.
Thank you thank you! If this stays this way or gets faster to upload, you'll see more posts from me. ^^
It's a drastic change in the color scheme but hey, I change my website layouts sometimes coz I get tired of the same thing...hehe My kudos to our Britmaster!
Doesn't matter if this is temporary or not...I like it.
Btw, I noticed the smilies are working! Awesome.....

Well, perhaps we could have a "CAA Lite" for dialup people like MichiruT, and occ'l dialup people like myself when I'm away from the apartment with a laptop.

actually, CAA isn't slow at all for dialup. sure it takes few seconds to load, but all images come from the cache anyway so it doesn't really matter after surfing a few pages.

One thing I do have to say for it, after using it a bit more: it runs really smoothly. Things aren't where they were before, but I'm not going to nitpick.

Yeah, I rather liked it myself. The brightness is great for these old bifocaled eyes.

Interesting. I hated it yesterday but it looks okay today. I guess I'm with you, Volt
It's very, uh, "minty fresh"
I'm cable so there wasn't much slowdown to begin with for me. I did like the old layout better, in many ways though, such as things being on the side not the top.

I'll have to admit that it seems bright, but overall I think I like much about the new layout. Many people have had wide signatures for a while, and on my 800x600 setup I had to side-scroll many message with the username/avatar on the left side. With it across the top of the message it let's the message area be wider (this may also open up people creating even wider images to fill the width of their larger screens....
sigh )
I tried yesterday to get on and again today and got a blank page... did another refresh (after bugging the master wizard himself... I think... anyway).
Glad to see things are running.... as usually the CAA staff and tech wizards are on top of things and doing a kick-butt job on the whole thing. And to know we're trying to prevent future drive-by hackings is great too.... Almost didn't know what to do with myself when the site was hacked!

Sorry about the mess... for some reason I reverted half of the old style by mistake.. ><
I'm working on the new one really fast.

that's true actually...it's not that slow but it is also relatively faster than usual with the layout change. hehe Nah, I won't nitpick on the dialup thing...I'm already very happy with the way it is now.
Thanks!
