Interactions between Mods and Forum Members

Postby Will Smith, Jr » Sat Dec 06, 2003 4:01 pm

Just read the last few posts on Romantic Love and the situation that took place. Maybe this is answered somewhere else but is there some sort of code of conduct or review accountability of posts before they are posted? My biggest concern is what it looks like to those who visit and even those who are regularly here can get disheartened by some of the exchanges that take place. And the last thing we want to do is to turn anybody away.

I didn't even know the moderators had meetings (which is a good thing) and maybe this issue has been addressed. Things that should be addressed PM should not be in the public forum. I don't know if things are in place to try to PM somebody before publicly posting but it may be needed. Of course, anybody who posts regardless of position must consider their words and add to them gentleness and respect.

Again, I don't know what goes behind closed doors and the mods may have already talked about this but you can PM me if need be just to fill me in on policy.

With that said, running this Alliance is not easy I know. I will continue to pray with you and for you, the mods, the Alliance, and everybody in between because we are the light of the world. Matthew 5:16.

Faint not,

This is something that has been on the minds and hearts of all of the staff members; yes, we are quite aware of it. We have also been discussing things in "mod meetings" and the mod forum that we have. When the staff responds to something simliar to this incident, it invovles a meeting of any of the staff members online via IM, lots of prayer, and lots of biblical referencing/searching. Usually we talk out the best solution and delegate operations to be done. That's the basic gist of our system, anyway; as for "accountability", one, the staff is comprised of some of the strongest Christians I know, so I trust their judgements completely to be for the most part (hey, we're all human; even I need to be pulled in sometimes) sound and wise. However, we realize we're all human, so that's why we communicate constantly (and we're talking hours at a time guys) in our meetings about possible solutions to crises and reprecussions.

So to sum up:
1. We're aware of what you're trying to get across
2. Lots of stuff happens behind closed doors; just trust me when I say we're taking care of this
3. Outlined the basic system of response that we use.

Now, I'm going to lock this thread. Any comments or concerns should be directed to PM.
