CAA "Lite" skin

Postby Straylight » Mon Feb 02, 2004 12:43 am

If you have a slow internet connection, you may be interested to know that there is now a "lite" skin, with most of the graphics stripped out. It took me 20 minutes to make so if you notice any glaring problems please don't hesitate to point them out.

To change to the "lite" skin click this link:
http://www.christiananime.net/forums/index.php?styleid=14

To change back:
http://www.christiananime.net/forums/index.php?styleid=1

You may also change skins in the user control panel. Click "edit options" -- it's under "miscellaneous options". If you are still experiencing difficulties, you may also turn off signatures, avatars and images under "thread display options".

Wow, that's cool! It looks so...white...hehe! Loaded almost instantly, too.

People who write below their abilities in order to crank out tons of books and make a buck. Especially Christian authors who do that. Outsiders judge us for it, and make fun of us for it, and it makes Jesus look bad. We of all artists on earth should be the most concerned with doing our best possible work at all times. We of all people should write with all our hearts, as if writing for the Lord and not for men.

Excellent; and it does indeed load faster, too! ^_^

Edit: I just found a minor problem with it; apparently spoilers can be seen because of the alternate color scheme. Look at my test thread to see what I mean.

I have DSL, but I really love cleanness in forum layouts, and love the purity of light colors. ^^ This is a very pleasant skin, and loads virtually instantaneously with me. ^^

I'm with Lluvia -- this skin is great, and even on a fast line, is definitely nicer to read and use. Nice work.

I haven't got a chance to properly look at this yet... I like it. It's pretty fast. I haven't used it extensively, but I didn't notice any errors.

Quick reply might have disappeared because you clicked the rollup button Image. I think rollup statuses are stored in the cookies.. so you might wanna try clearing those. Other that that I can't imagine how the quick reply would randomly disappear...

Not sure what you mean by page index.

After extensive testing and use, I am going to say that I really like the "lite" skin. Two main reasons: speed, and more text space width is used (i.e. in the "regular skin" the side margins are wider and therefore not as much text can fit in one line).

Myself, I just change the Internet. :thumb:

"In other news, major portions of the Internet backbone went offline after a sudden and rapid change in the Net's core protocols caused widespread system crashes and software errors. Rapid response by the American US-CERT technology crisis research team traced the source of the unprecedented specification changes back to the apartment of a sleep-deprived MD resident in Southern California. Attempts to contact the resident in person have failed because he hasn't shaved yet after being on-call overnight, but in a conference call to the FBI, the as-yet unnamed suspect simply stated, 'Well, I just didn't like it, so there.'"

"Lite" Skin does not show up on Tech Sub-Forum page

ShiroiHikari wrote:Hey, found a bug...

Straylight, I have found the same bug in a different place and it is very consistent instead of being random.

When I clicked on the Tech Sub-Forum link, I noticed that I can only view it with the Regular/"Dark" skin.

If you can also fix this, that would be great. I prefer the "Lite" skin.

Does this feature no longer work since the board changeover? I tried to apply it but it stayed black. Really slow loading on my comps.

EDIT: Nevermind. I just used a bottle of white out and colored my screen with it...

Actually, I did the user cp and changed it that way.
