Howdy all!
Writing reviews for Anime and Manga can be tedious work. Secondly, it takes dedication to sit down with a piece of paper and take notes while watching/reading, and even more patiencence to put it into a concise format.
What I propose is a database of titles - kind of like message board polls - that allows CAA Members to vote in the way the Review System works.
- Overall
- Age
- Violence
- Language
- Sexual Content
- Nudity
- Bad Religion
A Moderator or Administrator can add a title (at Member's request, mayhap) and have time allotted to lock in votes. Votes are tallied, totalled, averaged, etc. etc. This generates a mass-populus opinion instead of one which may seem one sided. (People who did like it, people who didn't like it, yada yada.)
The Quick-Review System could be taken a step further and allow people to post one-hundred to three-hundred words on a particular title, i.e. their shortened opinion.
I know what many of you are thinking, "What is keeping people from coming in here, putting up a bad title, and saying it's good for three year olds to watch?"
Criteria can be implimented so that does not happen. Perhaps only people who have been here for a certain amount of time, or have accumulated fifty or more posts may participate? This should (theoretically) weed out trollers and wrong-doers.
The Quick-Review System would be a great asset to the CAA. I am sure there are many of our younger members who are often worried about purchasing a title because of its unknown aspects. Furthermore, it will flesh out the Review Section somewhat. They may not be full-fledged reviews, but any information in this day and age - especially in concern with not wishing to be offended by various types of content - is a blessing in disguise.
