Okay, it's simple: what was the very first book that you read?
Mine was "Are you my mother?" by Dr. Suess. It's such a sad book...

I kinda remember something about a whale, but I really don't remember O_o

I do remember though, reading most of the American Girl series in the 1st and 2nd grade...

"Turtle Tales" or something like that. It was about a turtle that did a bunch of stuff, "[/i]thinking that's what a wise turtle would do[/i]."

Stickwick Stapers by Farles Wickens with 4 M's and a silent Q. *nudge-nudges OldPhil* Say no more...

But seriously, it's Hop On Pop by Dr. Seuss.

Goodnight Moon. I don't really remember who it's by though. That was a great book.

See Spot Run. Lol. My first series was Chronicles of Narnia I think though...Either that or little house on the prarie...

A Ladybird edition of Sleeping Beauty. I think I was three years old. Or so my mom tells me.

I had picture books with simple stories which I read; it was those OTTO books. A few ladybird books as well.

However, my first REALLY GREAT BOOK was an Afrikaans book called "Brolloks en Bittergal" by CJ Langenhoven. It was (by 10 year old's standards) a thick book and I read it in one sitting. I've had some of the story read to me, but the whole story is truly magical. It's about two evil monsters who like to eat children and how they get their just desserts.
