Which Harry Potter book is the best so far? I liked Goblet of Fire and Order of the Phoenix best.

Out of the few I've read, I liked Prisoner of Azkaban the best. I couldn't get through Goblet of Fire and I hated Order of the Phoenix, but I made myself read the whole thing anyway...@_@

Man, what a hard question. The first book that really got me into the series was Azkaban, and everything since then has been great. Goblet was brilliant, a divergence that would turn the series in its' present direction, Phoenix was necessary in giving validity to the humanity of the characters as well as devastating at times, and Prince was a piece of ingenuity on Rowling's part. I had no idea what to expect page after page, except for her foreshadowing, which was masterfully done.
I guess I picked Prince.

I actually enjoyed HP and the Half-blood Prince the best. But Goblet and Azkaban are very close.

I think I liked Azkaban best. I like the candy shop. I don't know why but I do.

Though I thought the earlier books weren't terrible, they seem aimed much more toward children (particularly in feeling like sets of events cobbled together) and so as a whole I like the later books better. Of those, which is my favorite?
Order of the Phoenix, I suppose, because it focused on major issues instead of Harry's Hogwarts Happenings. The majority Goblet of Fire felt too "miniquest-esque" for me and while Half-Blood Prince was serious and dealt with issues that are at least important it felt too limited to me, too focused on Harry as the savior of the series.
