I might be mistaken, but was this recent christian movie based on a book? It looked really, so I was wondering what it was about and stuff. And would you recommend it, or say to skip it?

Hmm. . . book, yes. Movie, no.

The book is about a family who are involved in a super secret government agency called the Veritas project. Their job is to investigate mysterious occurrances. Hangman's Curse is the story of their adventures into Bakers High School, a school where students have been going crazy claiming they see a ghost names "Abel Frye", a student who was rumored to have hanged himself in the school. Erego, the title of the book.

The book was really good. Really scary, but really good. I'm gettin' all jumpy just thinkin' about it. *goose bumps* Read it.

I've got the book and the movie. The book is better than the movie but the movie is still worth watching. Its also probably the best acted Christian movie (many are shockers in that department). I recommend you see the movie if you are a fan of Frank Peretti. But The Oath, This Present Darkness, Piercing the Darkness and The Visitation are all better books by the same author.

I've read the book like five times or so--I love it! It's just like that with the movie!

I'll admit, the book was more descriptive and that made it just better, but I really did like the movie! I would reccomend both! :thumb: Also, Frank Peretti plays in the movie, so you wouldn't want to miss him acting! He's just like that in person too!

I've never seen the movie, but the book was really cool. Really creepy, but good.

Sounds awesome. My cousin has it and the sequal, so I'm gonna borrow them from him sometime. ;)

I must confess, I haven't read Hangman's Curse though... :( I'll try to get around to it ;)

Yeah, Nightmare Academy (2nd book in that series) is really good too! I don't know for sure, but I think they are working on turning that into a movie also.

I, frankly, Liked Nightmare better than Hangman. It was more of a thinking book.

Yeah, I thought Nightmare Academy was better than Hangman's Curse too. I'm pretty sure it will be made into a movie.

I've read several other series by Frank Peretti and I think that they're all good.

One of his other series is called The Cooper Kids Adventure Series. It sounds like it would be kiddy, but it's actually very well written. I've read the first four in teh series and I must say that the first two were the most memorable.
They're The Door in the Dragon's Throat and Escape from the Island Atlantis.

He has other series, but I haven't read them yet.
