Has anyone read this trilogy? I am halfway through red at the moment, and I have having a blast! I keep dropping not-so-subtle hints to my family members to buy the last book, White, for my birthday

I am almost finished Red, the second book, and it seems my bro has picked up on the hints and is getting White! HUZZAH! I hope so, cause Dekker certainly knows how to leave things on a cliffhanger!

Dude! How did you guys get passed the dream sequences in the first book? When the main character jumped back and forth through worlds, it just made me dizzy and bored. and DON'T WORRY! i'm trying to finish the trilogy, honest! scout's honor.. (as in scout finch from to kill a mockingbird.. muahaha.. and for those who dunno it, yes i know i'm making a fool of myself =DD)

It was very confusing to begin with, but they explain everything later on
Well... almost everything

Thr3e is excellent, and it will keep you guessing right up to the end. Oh, and I just started Red (I got it for Christmas).

I wasn't a big fan of Black, but I love Thr3e and Blink. Those are seriously great books.
Is Heaven's Wager a good one? Cause I wanna read it.

I've never heard of this series til now, but after looking it up briefly, it sounds pretty good. *adds "Circle Trilogy" to already absurdly long "books I gotta read" list*

Are these books thrillers/fantasy/adventure or something else entirely? What famous Christian author is he most similar to: Frank Peretti, C.S. Lewis, Tolkien, Bill Myers, Kel Richards, Roy Pond etc?

errrrrr... I cant really compare him to any of those authors. The trilogy is kinda adventure, action, modern / old... Ok, I cant really describe it

I've only read the first 80 pages of Black so far and I really like it. Quite original and I love his writing style. Parts do remind me of The Space Trilogy by C.S Lewis but that's a good thing. Nice to see a book with creativity and a great message!
(Thing about Ted Dekker is his beginnings in his books aren't the best, but after the first few pages or so you can't put them down - well I can't anyway!)

I totally agree with you there. When I began Thr3e, Black, and Red, I read about 20 pages and then quit for a couple of weeks or more before forcing myself to read them again. He starts way too slow and without much interesting stuff going on. Once he gets started, he's great, though.
White, however, was easy to jump right in to. Still not a fast-paced beginning, but fast enough to get everything racing toward the end. I'm about halfway through White. I can't wait to read the end!

I just finished Black and I have Red on hold. Black seemed to get boring at some parts.

Swing. Swing. Swing! That is to say, I've read them and loved them. I think Thr3e had a better twist (than almost any other book), but the end to Black was a nice nod to The Matrix. Good stuff.

I finished Black today and thought it was very good, although some parts were a little slow. I'm onto Red soon. Its like a really imaginative re-telling of the Fall in the Garden of Eden.

I've read all of the trilogy, and I can tell you that it is wierd. However, if you can keep up with the story and the jumping back and forth, then you will love these books. I myself... LOVE them! They were so awesome!
The way that the two story lines flow is really cool. I was drawn into those books and couldn't stop reading them once I started.

Some people say that Tom's moving between the worlds was jarring for them. For me it was what kept it really interesting and a bit more original. Otherwise it would just be another thriller or just another fantasy or science-fiction novel. But I really enjoyed the transitions a lot. I like how the demons are called Shaitaki. Only problem is I kept thinking of the mushrooms! (lol)

I've finished Black and I'm about 134 pages into Red. So far I have to say the books are very good. Sort of like a hybrid mix of '24', Lord of the Rings and The Matrix!

I know this is a really old thread, but I figured I'd post here rather than start a new thread on the same topic.
I'm just now starting White, and I LOVE this series!!
My pastor recommended it, when I told him I liked the Chronicles of Narnia and Frank Peretti's This Present Darkness and Piercing the Darkness. I love Ted Dekker's writing style, it's easy to get caught up in.
I've got my mother reading the books now too, and hopefully my brother soon.
I highly recommend them!

The Circle had me up all night. In tears.
No other book has had me in tears at the end. I wear that as a badge of honor. Mr. Dekker, I applaud you.
