Greetings!

Well, I guess I can't resist any longer, so I might as well make an introduction post here... I want to say that I really appreciate it that this site exists! A community like this is quite rare, as most of you seem to realise, and a lot of things can happen on this site that probably wouldn't happen anywhere else!
Okay, now to introduce myself:
I guess I've enjoyed anime for a while now--I liked both Pokèmon and Digimon (still do!), and those were the first series I really got into. The favourite anime that I've watched in the past couple years have been:
Shin Seiki Evangelion - Also known as Neon Genesis Evangelion; some might say it's overrated, but it was one of my favourite anime of all time.
Suzumiya Haruhi no Yuutsu - Also known as Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya; the same as Evangelion, but for completely different reasons.
Lucky Star - If you see Haruhi, you really ought to see this! I loved it, as it was really funny!
Kannagi - While not strictly a Kyoto Animation work, the same director of Lucky Star and Haruhi produced Kannagi, and it also has a cool dance scene and even a cameo of Lucky Star characters!
Hayate no Gotoku - I can't rate highly enough how awesome this show is. It's got great characters, doesn't take itself too seriously, and is really enjoyable!
Ano Hi Mita Hana No Namae o Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai - I just finished this recent series the other day. It has a great story.
Especially these first three are series I view as "must-see" for anime fans--feel free to disagree with me or ask me my reasons!
I have seen many other series besides these, of course, and some that I'm currently watching might be pretty high up there as well!
Basically, sorry for such a long introductory post, but I just want to let everyone know I hope that I can have some valuable discussions here at this site. If you've checked how long I've officially been a member here, it will tell you that I've "lurked" for a while, which is sort of true... although having about four computers crash on me recently is a better explanation!
Oh, and a couple last things:
From the animes that I've mentioned I enjoyed, you might surmise that I enjoy 'slice of life' shows--which is mostly true! However, I also watch many other genres, especially sports anime (generally if it's Shounen and not Shoujo I might watch it)! I haven't really gotten into the anime that are 'popular' over in the States--for instance, One Piece, Naruto, Code Geass, Death Note, etc. ... (though I should mention that when they're on, I'll watch Bleach or FullMetal Alchemist on Cartoon Network). I'd be interested in discussing this with anyone who wants to, so don't feel offended!
Also, I have been involved in several off-and-on comic/manga/webcomic endeavours-I'm interested in feedback, and so I'm probably going to start another thread where I can discuss ideas regarding plot/style/etc. with the users here--you seem pretty nice for the most part!
Well, that's about it for now--hope someone replies to this!
