So I figured I'd start a personal Q&A thread, and see what happens. It seems to be the thing to do.

I'm not really new, but only a few people here interact with me on a regular basis anyway, so I figured it couldn't hurt.

GET TO KNOW SYRETH IN TWO EASY STEPS:

1) Ask a question

2) I will answer

Ask away?

Ah, whenever someone asks me a "favorite" question, I get struck with crippling indecision... but I'll do my best!

1. Favorite writers?

For fiction... I think I'd have to say Austen Andrews. He's not extremely popular, and he's probably not even the most talented in his use of verbiage, plot construction, or characterization, but I was recommended one of his books when I was a teenager and it made me realize that I can tear through hundreds of pages worth of novel in a few days without my brain imploding. I used to hate reading, but the book I read back then showed me that I could love reading if I wanted to.

In terms of Christian writers, I'd have to say C.S. Lewis hands down. Not because he's necessarily the most brilliant man that ever wrote about God, or that his philosophical arguments are the most tightly constructed, but because of the way he writes about God. When C.S. Lewis writes about God, whether in fiction or nonfiction, it's like my sense of who God is is being turned on end, and I'm being invited to discover that He's infinitely greater than I had imagined.

2. Favorite anime?

This is a little more difficult. Lately, I've been having trouble finding anime that I have no complaints about. I guess I would have to say episodes 1-62 of Bleach would be among my favorites, minus episode 33 and 50. I have serious NON-CANON issues with Bleach, like most other people have, but I still feel that the first arc is pretty brilliantly constructed, with compelling character development and escalating tension.

I also very much enjoyed Monster. One day I hope to own the manga. But that story makes as great a use of the hero and the other as I've seen, akin even to The Lord of The Rings' Gollum and Frodo.

3. Favorite animals?

Cats and Bunnies. Don't really want to own a rabbit, though.

4. Favorite musicians?

This is way more difficult. Um, let's see... lately I've been listening to Chiodos, Hellogoodbye, Anamanaguchi, YMCK, Secret and Whisper, some Saosin, some Breaking Benjamin, Antestor, and the list goes on. I tend to get obsessed with songs rather than artists. I've been listening to Anamanaguchi's Another Winter over and over again for a couple months, and I'm still not bored with it.

Favorite show outside of anime:

Hurrrr.... probably Firefly. Fox's worst mistake ever was to cancel that show. Though for some reason How I Met Your Mother comes to mind. Whenever I happen to be channel surfing, I always feel compelled to watch that show when it's on.

How did I find this site?

Searching for "christian anime" back in 2004.

What is your favorite past time?

Writing fiction, writing/playing music, drawing, reading.

Hmm... not really sure. Haven't given this much thought. My initial reaction is to say V, but I'm not sure he qualifies as a superhero.

2. Favorite Narnia character besides Aslan?

Digory Kirke, because
of the way his character is handled in the series as a whole. I think it's interesting how his adventure in the beginning with the Musician's Nephew comes full circle when he appears in Narnia in The Last Battle. It ties up the story quite nicely in my opinion.
Plus, his experience in the story gives him a lot of knowledge and insight about Narnia and Aslan, which he then handles with grace and patience.

3. What's the meaning of your username?

I made the name up as a kid for one of my characters. I've always liked it. Eventually I came up with the etymology of the name, but I'm probably going to have to revise it a bit. I might even change the character's name altogether since the name became a part of D&D lore. *sigh*

Absolutely nothing. It's just pretending with rules. I currently have a level 3 Paladin. Fun, though the class paired with the Lawful Good alignment is a bit restrictive at times.

2. Have you ever watched the Nostalgia Critic or Atop the Fourth Wall?

No sir.

3. Are you into Star Trek?

A bit. I've always kind of wanted to watch The Next Generation from start to finish. For now I'm just content to watch reruns when they're on.

1. You've been invited to a dinner with three historical figures of your choosing. Who did you choose?

Moses, Jesus, and Leonardo da Vinci? I guess?
2. Favorite game show?

Jeopardy, probably.
3. Ever use Pandora?

Pretty often.

Why do you have a teddy bear as your avvie?

'Cause I just had in mind to draw a bear one day. So I drew a bear and put it up as my avatar. lol.
Do you like hugs or kisses better?
I prefer hugs over kisses from most people!
Have you ever heard of the movie Danny and the Superdogs?

Now I have!
Have you read Miki Falls?!?!?!

Nope! Not really into that kind of manga, usually.
