Hi All!
A good friend of mine STRONGLY recommended that I join this group, due to the fact that I:
- am a student of Jesus, in order to be the best mom to my awesome 5 year old daughter, and best wife to my pretty cool CompSci professor husband
- grew up in Hawaii and Tokyo, and watched Japanese television up until high school when I moved back to the US at age 16
- am bilingual (Eng/Jap), with a BA in Japanese Studies
- hardcore movie snob
- serious gamer
Over the past 5 years, I have enjoyed creating my own (at home/online) jobs and currently work part time as:
- Japanese to English translator/editor
- Japanese educator
- Mary Kay Senior Consultant
- English as a Second Language teacher
I look forward to exploring this group, meeting some folks, and having various conversations.
Before I complete this post, it is only fitting that I list my favorite anime, I suppose.
In no particular order:
- Cowboy Bebop
- Candy Candy (FIRST series I got involved with at age 10, in 1982)
- Princess Sara (1985)
- Witch Hunter Robin
- Bubblegum Crisis
- most Miyazaki. But, Nausicca will always be my fav - since I saw it first (age 12)
- Scrapped Princess
- Galaxy Express 999
- Doraemon (and other of Fujiko F. Fujio creations)
- Escaflowne
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Wolfs Rain (until the end.... )
and of course, there are a slew of silly series I enjoyed as a kid but will not admit... yet.

Welcome to CAA!!
Read any novels?
Novels?

It has been awhile since I read any anime/manga.
Anything I would have read, would have been in Japanese - and back in my 'secular days'
Those were:
- Candy Candy
- Crying Freeman
and of course, the classics:
Sazae-san, and other newspaper-type comics
How about you? What are you reading now?

Hello and welcome to CAA.
What games do you play?
Games... good question

Games have been a huge hobby of mine, since early childhood.
I got pretty spoiled in Tokyo, growing up, spending all my weekends in 5-story arcades in Tokyo
Apart from my stacks of games (Wii, PS2), I am currently playing:
- Runes of Magic
- Time Management games from Big Fish Games
- New Super Mario Brothers Wii
- Mario Galaxy
- Rock Band
- Guitar Band
- Karaoke Revolution
Older favs (which I would still be playing, if I didn't have work, a family, and a household to manage) are:
- Pikmin
- Devil May Cry
- Tomb Raider
- Baldur's Gate
- Simpsons Road Rage, and Hit and Run

I don't think I've ever heard of any of those... Probably not surprising. XD
And I'm reading the second book in the Claudi Journals series. ^^
Have you ever played any Legend of Zelda?

Welcome Stella-san! Cool, you can speak Japanese? That is awesome! I am learning Japanese. Sadly...all by myself....I'm just using books and programs. Anyway, welcome to the forum, where you'll find fellow Christ-followers who love anime! I'm Kokoro Hane (manga-ka name), but you can call me Katie! (my real name)

日本語をはなしますか? はじめまして!
Welcome to the Nuthouse!
You seem to have excellent taste in anime.
For now, please don't worry too much about the DND list. You can certainly list NGE in the titles you've watched. Frankly, most of the stuff in there is listed because it caused serious devolving-into-flaming within the threads.
Thanks for stopping by!
じゃあね!

You know, I should make a Japanese learning thread where everyone can practice their Japanese together, because learning alone sucks

Yeah, it does. 'Cause you can't practice on anyone. Maybe we should also have Skype meanings so we can make sure we're pronouncing it right XD!!

Question. I went to a website called Generation Kikaider that sells a lot of stuff that they licensed because it was shown on TV in Hawaii long ago. So out of curiosity, did you ever watch Kamen Rider V3 or the original live-action Kikaider series when you were growing up? Or did you mostly watch anime stuff?
