Uniqueness Thread!

PostPosted: Thu Apr 10, 2008 6:29 pm

[font="Palatino Linotype"]I had an idea...((Oh, dear, it's the apocalypse!))

I was wondering, what unique things do you have about yourself and your life?

We can list them, and get to know each other through similarities!

Here, for example, are mine:

1.) I am double-jointed in my fingers, shoulders, wrists, knees, ankles, and elbows.
2.) I can bend over backwards so that I can touch my head to the back of my knees almost.
3.) I was named after a Star Trek character
((RL name))
4.) I can speak in small bits German as well as a small amount of Japanese.
((I know more German phrases, but I know more Japanese songs))
5.) I am one of eight anime fans in my whole county.
6.) I am writing a book.
7.) I aspire to be a Graphic Artist/Singer.

See? Get the idea?
I encourage new acquaintances and old friends to join!

1. My right front tooth is completely fake; first by chipping it off diagonally in someone's forehead, then having a root canal. My teeth generally lead more interesting lives than I do.
2. I am a conversationalist with two settings: off and high voltage.
3. I struggle with foreign languages, but I can swear profusely in sign language. Like you wouldn't believe.
4. My surname is Celtic/Gaelic, and quite possibly the most oddly specific English translation there is.
5. I have no musical talent whatsoever. Decent singer, though.
6. I do not enjoy travel. That said, I've stayed in England, Scotland, Germany, Mexico, and Brazil at different times, and assorted United States.
7. I am the most good humored pessimistic cynic you are ever likely to meet.
8. I love hand drawn animation, and will probably continue to watch and collect it well into my old age. Anime, American animation, European cartoons, all of it.
9. I do not deserve my current girlfriend. I only hope one day I'll be able to match up to her.
10. One day I hope to be published author.
11. I like a wide range of humor, from sarcasm and parody to deadpan and crazy, light-hearted and decidedly darker material. This occasionally baffles my friends, who tend to side one way or the other.
12. I tend to find (fictional) villains fascinating character studies.

3. My teeth currently have the value of about three brand new cars. Considering, of course, I've had braces 4 times, retainers 5 times, 6 teeth pulled, and four tooth implants(due for a fifth one soon). My teeth were rather messed up(they still are, actually, they just...look better now. XD)
4. When people see me in real life, they tend to think I'm about 5 years older than I actually am.

2. I hate soda in any and all forms.

4. I have musical talent, but I can't play any instruments. Mostly because I don't have any to practice on. Can't afford 'em.
5. I am a girl, but I like mecha anime.
6. I am a girl, but I typically don't like shoujo anime. Sailor Moon is one exception.
7. In addition to giant freaking robots, I like playing with makeup, shopping for cute clothes and cooking things.
8. I'll listen to just about any genre of music from any decade so long as it's not rap. I love me a catchy tune.
9. I hate cheese. It is only to be tolerated in small doses.
10. High fructose corn syrup is my mortal enemy.

Wow. You astound me!

You really are an amazingly unique person. Having to undergo a Thymus transplant sounds so terrifying to me. It's strange but I remember reading about babies born with fatal immune disease in an article months ago and it mentioned survivors who had underwent a Thymus transplant. Also, attending an AIDS conference in light of everything that the disease revolves around and the prejudice some people still harbor towards it, really got me thinking of what I could do for others and this world. You must be an awesomely strong person in this life. I don't know what I'd do in the face of terrible adversity that go beyond my own control. This post of yours really "re-opened" my eyes to what this life is really about.

Being a Roman Catholic myself, I think it's really awesome that you had the chance to be blessed by Pope John Paul II. He was one person I wish I could've met in my life.

I really hope you achieve all your aspirations and I'm a huge J-pop-er as well. ^__~
