If I remember correctly, "otaku" comes from the Japanese for "obsession". Or something like that.....anyway it's the term for anime fans. ^^; At least, that's what I thought...I could be wrong >_>

Well, otaku means rabid [anime] fan. Also from what I have found it means your family and 'you'(polite).
