Hello one and all

Ok, where should I begin? I've been a christian since I was but 2 years old. My grandmother rised me the most out of my whole family, and she was a extremely devoted christian. So that is basically why I was exposed to christ at such a young age. She went on to be with the maker in 1998. Sadly, my mother followed suit in 2003. So it just me and my dad now living alone in a trailer. We live in louisiana, and thankfully Katrina wasn't that bad in my particular area, neither was Rita(thank God almighty for that). I'm currently studying to be a programmer(C++) and webmaster. Programming is hard, but its not brain-bustingly hard like some people seem to think. You just have to do it in logical steps.

Ok, about my interest in the Japanese/Asian culture. My interest started back in 1997, when I was exposed for the first time to two anime films. Ghost in the Shell and Akria. These two films spark a interest in me for that culture. I grabbed any kind of book I could find on Japan and anime in general. When I got the Internet in 2001, I found a wealth of info on the subject. I then started to find some really cool artwork by korea's Hyung Tae-Kim, and my interest in not just japan, but korea as well soared. My interest in video games has only gotten stronger over time, and I intend to keep a very close eye on the next generation consoles(despite the fact its going to be one big bloodbath).

Anyways, thanks for reading this and I hope to try and be an activiy member of them little wacky community.

Well, I'm not that great at C++ yet. Thankfully, I was able to find a compiler that was under the GNU software license. Right now, I'm mainly learning and fiddling with it. I use Microsoft Visual C++ at my college. Well, I wouldn't call it a college, more of the trade-school.

Welcome to the CAA! (Do you mind if I abbreviate your name to something like Pet, or SP or something? You can call me CA. ^_^).

Excuse me. *Pauses typing in order to boot cat off lap... gently. He dribbes. @_@* I am now out of the dribble-risk zone.

Now where was I....? ...oh, right. ^_^" It's nice to meet you. Enjoy yourself here and post lots. I don't know anything about HTML except for a few handy things like to bold, italicise (sp?) or underline text, create links and put in the odd picture. Feel free to shake your head in pity; I don't mind.

I don't mind at all if you SP or Pet. I actually came up with that screenname out of the clear blue yonder. If it makes you feel any better, I don't know the first thing about PHP(although I'm willing to learn). There is a great site that goes by the name of HTML Code Tutorial, located
here, if you want to learn some more stuff about HTML or XHtml.

Thanks for the link, Pet. I think my ignorance of programming is due to laziness more than anything, though. I can use photoshop, figure out most basic software and type, though, so I'm happy.

It's a pretty cool screenname, though. I came up with mine because I like to draw animals (people too, bust mostly animal-like stuff). I've been taken for a guy a couple of times due to my avatar, though - it's always very funny when that happens. XD Actually, while I'm on that topic... you've probably noticed, but you can tell whether people on the CAA are male or female by the sign beside their name (if they have it up). I can be very unobservant, so I didn't notice that for a while when I had first joined and it led to some funny situations.

Glad to have you here. (Also glad you managed to avoid Katrina and Rita.)

I'm yukinon, obviously, though most people shorten my name too. Feel free.

It didn't take long for you to observe that our community is wacky, eh? ^^

Greetings fellow programmer!

Oddly enough, I haven't used gcc much. Though I have used a Borland C++ compiler in the past.

Check out the Computing forum as well; you'll find some useful discussions there.
