Hello, everyone. I'm new to CAA and found it when I was looking for anime reviews. I'm pretty to new to anime, too, but I love everything that Miyazaki-san has done. (I've seen everything except Princess Mononoke and the Ghiblies Episode 2.) I think I have a crush on Baron Humbert von Gikkingen (which makes my husband laugh!) I am also seriously obsessed with everything Joe Hisaishi has ever written and performed. I've got the piano arrangments for Studio Ghibli's movies (all except Howl's Moving Castle) and the music is so deeply rooted in my soul that it really helps me worship God. Any recommendations on anime or manga are welcome! I'd really like info on what is good (powerful, real), but also what is okay for little ones since my kids are 6, 5, 17 mos., and 7 mos. Thanks!

Grim's Fairy Tales is a good one. It might be a little hard to find because it is an older series but a good one. Kiki's dilvery service is a really cute movie, appropriate for young ages. She is a witch, but there is no witchcraft, other then riding on a broom. It is a rather nice storyline. That's all I can think of now. I will see what else I can come up with.

God Bless

heh. Let's see. If you click the "reviews" link at the top of your screen, there's quite a few reviews in there. We try to list age-appropriateness too. I'm not sure what (outside of Miyazaki) is really good. There are sure to be plenty in there though.

Good luck!

Hello wellcoem to CAA! I don't really know nearly as much about anime or manga as everyone else here does so I wouldn't know about any really good ones that are good for younger kids to. (As they can be hard to find).

Greetings, all.

Wonderer, is Grimm's Fairly Tales a manga or an anime?

Mithrandir, the reviews section is what brought me here! But are there manga there, too? I guess I was thinking it looked like anime?

Thanks!

Hmm... I keep saying I'll get around to writing a manga reviews section too, but somehow other stuff keeps getting in the way. No, there are no manga reviews yet. >.< Sorry!

Hi and welcome, Hisaishi Fan! ^___^/

also what is okay for little ones since my kids are 6, 5, 17 mos., and 7 mos. Thanks!

My, you've got your hands full. o_o;;; Well, you can always ask me via pm for a quick review of any anime or manga. I'd love to help you out - another mom. Wow, I'm so overwhelmed. *o*)/// My kids are a bit older though, 13 and 15.

I would suggest for little ones "Little Snow Fairy, Sugar." That and all the "Hello Kitty" stuff. They'll love it.

In way of manga, if your oldest is six-years-old, I'd suggest waiting on introducing him/her to manga. There are very few (maybe 1-3) that are appropriate for that age level.

Anyway, tell us a little more about yourself.

[size=84][color=seagreen]YOU SEE

You see into the deepest part of me ---

beyond the fog I hide behind.

You cast your light upon the shadows

that stretch like cobwebs in my mind.

You ease the pain when I am hurting,

and morbid visions from my past

pierce into the realm of Reason

as though I danced on blades of glass.

You grant me strength when I have fallen

and, once again, I've lost my way.

You take my hand in Yours and lead me

into the promise of a brand new day.

You bring order to all my chaos,

yet set my well-laid plans awry.

You place me on a firm foundation ---

then give me wings so I can fly.

You sand away my roughened edges

and polish all the dullest parts

until I stand before Your presence...

a newly-sculpted work of art.

You see into the heart within me,

right through my motives and selfish will.

And yet, in spite of all You see

You say You love me even still.
