Who is keeping up? I think that Closet Otaku is. I certainly am. XD
Tomorrow is Korea and Greece. I'm pretty excited for that. And I'm expecting England to kill America on sunday. (lol Jon Stewart)
Edit: lol Saturday. My bad.

I am. There's no way anyone is SA can escape it, but the whole country is pretty enthusiastic and excited about it and the vibe is infectious.
Opening match was a nail biter, but a draw is acceptable, considering there's a >60 place difference between us and Mexico on the FIFA rank list.
USA/England is on Saturday. I'm going to the Algeria/Slovenia game on Sunday! XD

Will be watching the Korea/Greece match tomorrow; unfortunately, I may have to miss the USA/England game!
Games today were enjoyable, although I didn't expect two tie matches.

Very favorable matches today for Uruguay and South Africa, it increases the chance that one of the favorites between France and Mexico will not be moving on.
I'm hoping for more goals tomorrow and a strong US showing! The games today had their moments but were mostly rather dull.

For people that want to watch the England vs. USA game, it will be live at 2 pm EST tomorrow on ABC.
For me, I will not be watching as the College baseball super regional games that started today.

I'm watching, mostly just the teams I've decided to follow, so the USA, South Korea, Ivory Coast and whoever has the pleasure of beating the tar out of North Korea.
If the US plays anywhere near the way they did in the Confederation Cup, England will have a tough out. This is a US team that should do better then having its opponent score its only goal in this world cup.

Oh Goodness, how did the DPRK (N. Korea) ever make it in the world cup?
Imagine Japan vs North Korea... Or S. Korea vs N. Korea. That would be weeeeeird.

Considering how low our national team is ranked it's quite a relief to tie with Mexico, because even if we won the World Cup losing on the opening match would have been the anti-climax of the century.
Here is
how our office celebrated the kick off yesterday. We did the Diski Dance for all the world to see.
Oh Goodness, how did the DPRK (N. Korea) ever make it in the world cup?
Kim Jong Ill threatened to send a nuke down Sepp Blatter's throat.

I missed it yesterday due to some other circumstances, but I'm keeping up as well.
And go Italy. I wouldn't mind the US winning, but I'm guessing that won't happen.

Against England in the World Cup, a tie is as good as a win. I think the US has an excellent chance of advancing now.

I know nothing about soccer, but I know that England's goalie failed, badly.
I think I am going to go hop on facebook and remind my friends across the pond of this.

Checking out ESPN for college football/college baseball news.
I found this,
Ball to blame?
Now they are blaming the ball that is being used for the point that the USA got. Geez! Whatever did that ball did to you people!

The referee for the Australia/Germany game absolutely sucks. The red card was absolutely undeserved as well as the following yellow card. Then the following penalty wasn't carded when it was an actual penalty. Really?
Germany is dominating Australia. Absolutely DOMINATING. The third goal was hilarious. "Yo ima charge full speed with the ball to your goal! Lol jk Ima stop and score".

I got home about 1.5 hours ago from watching the Algeria/Slovenia game, and got to see the last bit of the Germans thrashing the Aussies.
I'll post a more detailed record of our excursion and photos tomorrow when I'm less tired.

Actually, it's a pretty legitimate complaint.
http://g.sports.yahoo.com/soccer/world-cup/news/controversy-over-world-cup-ball-won-rsquo-t-die--fbintl_ro-worldcupball061310w.html
Apparently there have been a lot of complaints, and it's been a big controversy in regards to the Algeria/Slovenia game. The coach of the Netherlands team has also complained about it. A google search revealed this review from a site, posted on January:
http://www.soccercleats101.com/2010/01/13/jabulani-world-cup-soccer-ball-review/
Where the guy basically says "Yeah, this ball moves weird in the air and it's a definite disadvantage for goalies, but strikers will love it."
It seems kind of dishonest to use a ball that teams aren't used to playing with in a series like this.
