I will never understand why people who make commercials believe that annoying viewers is a good way to make a commercial. So I was wondering what you folks consider the most annoying commercials.
Here are mine:
That Staples one where the idiot is screaming "WOW! THAT'S A LOW PRICE!"
The Smiling Bob commercials (shivers)
Just the Burger King in general

I find 95% of all commercials are annoying!

Back in the 90's, the commercials for Bill's Carpet Fair scared me because they always ended with this ghosty guy being like "IF YOU NEED CARPET AND DON'T SEE BILL'S, YOU'RE MAKING A BIIIGGG MISTAKE! AAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"

Yeah, I haven't seen many commercials that I actually enjoy; unless you're counting movie trailers, which I can tolerate for the most part.

This kind of reminds me of a fairly recent local commercial. Apparently there's some gun and/or weapon store (There are a lot down here) and they have a somewhat creepy commercial. At the end of the commercial, the camera cuts to a group of people each pointing a shotgun towards the camera (or maybe the viewers 0_o). As soon as that image is shown, the announcer chimes in by saying, "Don't make us come find you..."

It's just a bit unsettling...

I hate those stupid progressive commercials. The lady drives me to madness. XD

The commercials that will make me cringe from halfway across the house are those loud, badly done local car dealership commercials. Oh man, I hate those so much. XD

Also, the Cash4Gold commercials. They're just obnoxious. XD

And lastly, Axe commercials. My gosh I can't stand those things. XD I'm sure there are a number of others, but those are the only ones that really stand out enough for me to actually find them detestable. XD

This is one of the best commercials ever.

I can't think of a lot at the moment, but here's one to ponder...


"HEAD ON! APPLY DIRECTLY TO THE FOREHEAD!!...."

I hate the "I wear no pants" Dockers commercial. What if I don't WANT to see a bunch of not-very-attractive dudes wearing no pants? Does anyone want to see that?

I also can't really imagine having to explain to your kids why there are a bunch of dudes with no pants singing a song on TV.

I've never understood why announcers on car ads have no indoor voice.

During my 3 months in the US I saw a total of 2 ads that I liked/were good.

Telling me how bad your competitor is, is not an ad; it's just lazy.

I think the "I wear no pants" ad is funny because of it's simplicity. Here's some guys singing about not wearing pants, then the announcers says, as if he is relaying a message from God himself, "NOW it's time to wear the pants!"


Concerning the Berries and Cream lad, I loved the commercial! I thought it was always funny.

Aw, what's not to like? He's like a boy from the 17th century singing about berries and cream. If you look at history, I don't imagine that there was much to enjoy in the 17th century, so let the boy have his berries and cream.

Those used car commercials where the guys are screaming their heads off about the latest deals.

But he's NOT from the 17th century. He's CLEARLY living in modern day times. I believe that he is going through some sort of...identity/midlife crisis? In this commercial he appears to be a creepy man dressed as a child singing about berries and cream. Just wait, next he'll show up as the Esurance lady.

Nope, as Ante pointed out, he is clearly in the modern day, so unless you think he's over 300 years old, he's not from the 17th century. He's some medieval fair reject who is annoying and should be beaten.

Well, I thought the tune was catchy.

Anyway, this whole topic is subjective.

Off the top of my head, the only ads that I specifically try to avoid are; those progressive commercials and the old esurance (sp?) ads (I don't think those are on anymore.)

The most amazing annoying commercial is for The Eagleman Insurance Company. Look it up on YouTube.
