For all fans of the X-Men animated series that ran during the '90s, it's finally being released on DVD!

As the article says, the two volumes out now cover the first 2-and-1/2 seasons. I suppose subsequent volumes will follow.
All's I know is I got my volume 1 and I'm enjoying it tremendously. Man, I missed that show.

Wow, brings back so many childhood memories. Ah, childhood. I didn't realize just how amazing it was until I grew up. The irony... XD

It took them this long to put it on DVD? XD

Cool! That's the only good X-men cartoon. Too bad Nightcrawler only showed up in one episode.

Yeah, but Buena Vista who acquired the rights still has yet to announce if they’ll be releasing the rest of the series. So, X-men animated fans may only get those first 2 volumes.

Well they darn well better, they kinda got themselves in it now. I imagine the only reason they're still undecided is they're waiting to see how it sells.
So, I'd say it's pretty likely now that they've finally got the ball rolling.

That is what they are doing.

They did the same thing with the Gargoyles dvd release and others. When the Gargoyles dvd didn't sell well, they end up canceling Season 2 Volume 2 dvd release.

So this could happen again, since sells for most of tv cartoon series that Disney has release haven't sold that well.

For the X-Men animated series? I think not, considering how frustrated all the fans were getting that a DVD release was such a long time coming. It should sell pretty darn well.

The same thing can be said for the Gargoyles series. Disney just wasn't please with the numbers, but we will see.

Well, X-men Evolution was another series that faired pretty well with fans but was never completed. They released all but the last season which you can now buy on itunes but cannot physically own. >_> Though this was with Warner Studios so who knows.

Mr. Roy Mustang is right we’ll just have to wait and see. Hopefully, it will generate enough sales though some fans refuse to buy it in volumes as they would rather have it as a complete series DVD release. x_x

And considering how well the movies are doing (despite the fact that the third one was BAD!), I'm sure newbies to the franchise who never even saw the cartoon will pick it up.
