Yep. And Ando just might kill Hiro. And the villains from Level 5 just got out.
This is going to be one epic season!

My feelings on this new season are mixed. Some things had me irritated like
Mo's haphazard, waffle-y approach to science, the fact that New York and Costa Verde CA are apparently a short walk away, and yet another addition to the Petrelli family.
It's kinda a mixture of good and bad. And even then, the badness is of such a quality that I want to see how much more awful it can get.
HRG and Sylar teaming up is just WRONG! It's like teaming up Batman with the Joker!

Both acknowledged that they are being played in a game by Angela Petrelli.
On a tangent, I know I'm the minority on this issue, but I am sick and tired of Sylar's continued existence. His 'end' in the first season was fitting but you can't make a good thing last forever. Now it seems that the universe is bending over backwards to give Sylar everything he wants unopposed and the plots surrounding him have become increasingly ridiculous
like him being Peter and Nathan's brother
just to keep things fresh.

I also don't buy the "Sylar has to stick around to balance out Peter" excuse because the last season and first few episodes of this season show that there are plenty of ways to render Peter irrelevant to the plot (amnesia, suddenly finding yourself in Francis Capra's body, etc.)

I'm enjoying this season so far but, honestly, they need to thin out the cast quite a bit. It really feels like they're straining to work all the characters in and still keep the plot moving.

It seems many of them are introduced just to give the various villians someone else to kill without thinning out the main cast too much, so I think you will get your wish.

I really wasn't even talking about the new characters, I mean the main cast's too big. I seems like too many "major" characters are being reduced to cameos because there's no time for anything else (I think so, at least)

I'm a fan.

I think Season 2 used up a lot of grace from Heroes fans, but I actually enjoyed parts of it and when Season 3 started up, I was ready for the game.

I'm just having a hard time reading this thread because I can't really read the spoilers. The shade of blue that my computer uses when I highlight something makes it impossible to read.

I'm really enjoying what they've been doing, and the plot has been moving along at a fast clip. What's cool about this season is that they've addressed any problems I've had with the plot IN the show. So when something happens (like, in the first scene of the season, where Claire thinks she can use a gun on someone who, normally, that wouldn't work on) they show us the reason why an episode or two later (and suddenly, Claire's confidence in the gun in that first scene of the season doesn't feel so misplaced).

Last episode's sequence with Hiro and the paintings was fun, especially when I caught that glimpse of the painting on the rock when they first arrived . . . and suddenly you know what's coming. Again, this is addressed in show ("hanging a lampshade on it" is the term I've seen used), where the painter says, "You finally started using your brain. That's how you succeed." Or some such.

So, yeah, I feel like it's worth my time, and it makes for a great double feature with Terminator.

Oh, and Mohinder? Man . . . I don't know where they're going with that. But the theme of this story arc seems to be "choices". What do you do with your power? Use it for good or evil? Become a hero or villain?

You see it with the Peter/Sylar arc; the HRG/Sylar arc; the Mohinder arc; the Claire arc; the speedster/Hiro/Ando/Parkman arc. All these arcs are dancing round the theme of choices.

This thread has been awfully quiet. Somehow I'm not surprised.

Volume 3 sucked. End of story.

Epilogue, though: Volume 3 was thoroughly disappointing. It had a number of interesting elements, but that's not enough to carry a television show. I'll give Volume 4 a try to see if the new writing direction has learned lessons, but I'm not holding my breath.
