Third Narnia movie

Sci Fi Channel wrote:The third installment of Disney and Walden Media's The Chronicles of Narnia franchise will move its production to Mexico from New Zealand, where the previous two installments shot, Variety reported.

Production of the first two films--The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and Prince Caspian--was based in New Zealand largely because of government tax incentives. Weta Digital and Weta Workshop, which created most of the films' effects and props, also are based in that country.

By contrast, the third movie, Voyage of the Dawn Treader, to be directed by Michael Apted, needs several large soundstages plus a massive water tank: The title of the film refers to the ship that serves as a major set piece.

Because of that, production will move to Rosarito, Mexico, and set up shop at Baja Studios, where Titanic, Deep Blue Sea and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World were shot.

Location shots in Australia will still be filmed as planned. Production originally was slated to start in October, but will now likely begin in January.

Michael Apted is directing the third?! this should be interesting, though i enjoyed how Andrew Adamson directed the first two films. though a different director doesn't suddenly make the movie bad, it makes me a tad bit worried...

We can hope, anyway. At least they're shooting them in a logical order. ;)

Yes, just remember, it was a different director who changed up everything on the Batman movies. Joel Schumaker ruined the whole franchise. Let's just hope the same thing doesn't happen here.

I'm excited, not worried. I've enjoyed the Narnia films so far... and with Douglas Gresham helping to steer the ship, I feel secure with how the rest of the series will play out.

I HOPE the make A Horse and His Boy... it's my absolute FaaaavoriTE~~!~

YES...I really hope so. That one and The Magician's Nephew. Those are my two favorites.

I am glad to see them going in Publication Order so far and not Chronological Order. Hehe call me a purist, but I think that is the best way to do it. Besides once The Magician's Nephew rolls around... there will be so many oooooh~~!~ OOOOH I SEE!!! moments for those who are brand new to this series. hehe. XD

So far, the music and scenery in this films have been wonderful. I liked how they made Prince Caspian darker. I had a few tiffs with certain things in the film... but again, I'm a snobby purist at times. XD

Here's to hoping the series will remain good.

OOoohhhhhh! I can't wait for The Silver Chair!!! That will be good...of course The Voyage of the Dawn Treader should be quite amazing as well. I agree with them putting it in the order C.S. Lewis originally had them...it will be different to see it that way...=)

Heard that after the fourth they may discontinue them though :(

That would be lame!!! But I heard that as long as the budget allows and Disney...they will try to make all of them.

This is still Narnia related, though slightly off topic: sorry.

Does anyone know how Prince Caspian did at the box office? I believe that as long as there is a profitable market for the Narnia films they will keep making them.

Well we know that the location for the Voyage of the Dawn Treader is very nice then.

As both Titanic and Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World had great cinematography.
