What are some of the most disturbing movies you've watched? Here's some of my votes:
Pink Floyd's the Wall
Pulp Fiction
Ninja Scroll
Neon Genesis Evangelion: End of Evangelion

Eraserhead (my #1 disturbing film of all time)
Mulholland Drive
(e.g. almost anything directed by David Lynch)
Jigoku
Dancer in the Dark

I imagine Ninja Scroll would disturb anyone :P

Dang... I can't think of anything right off... Hmm... maybe the Green Mile.

The Green Mile had some disturbing parts in it, but it was still a great movie.

Frankly, I was disturbed and appalled by Akira. Greatest anime ever? I must not have seen the same thing as everyone else did. >.>

I can't think of anything else right now.

Is that the one with Bjork in it? If it is I did see that one. It didn't disturb me at all though because I except that kind of strangeness from Bjork only she could star in a girl going blind, breaks into song, ends up murdering someone but not intentionally because the guy was a complete and utter loon to begin with, than going on death row but still pays for her son's surgery before she gets killed kind of flick but that is just my opinion :) Though the soundtrack to that album was great!

As for movies that have disturbed me I can't really think of any! I try and stay away from horror flicks and just weird-looking movies all together. What can I say I like to put my mental well-being a head of the hype of some cinematic features. ^__^

A Clockwork Orange. That's a hard one to watch. Really squirm-inducing.

I've always wanted to see that but have never been able to bring myself to do it.

Oh, I thought of one that disturbed me all to heck-- AI: Artificial Intelligence. That movie traumatized me. (And I'm not talking about the horrible ending.) Do the words "Flesh Fair" ring a bell?

A Clockwork Orange was a fantastic movie. However, I would never really want to watch it again.

I have plans to watch this movie this week. I tend to be a fairly difficult person to disturb, so we shall see.

I think that the most disturbing film I have seen is "Dumplings". It is a short film that can be found on the DVD "Three... Extremes". It's not so much the film itself as it is the ending.

On the complete opposite side of the spectrum, "Idiocracy" is disturbing for the simple reason that it seems to be exactly where mankind is heading... :(

I agree with Clockwork Orange.

Osama.

I feel the same way about that movie as y'all about A Clockwork Orange. It's a great film, the first of it's kind, hearbreaking and well-made...but I can't bring myself to ever watch it again.

*The Cell
*The Virgin Suicides
*Scream(the first scene w/Drew Barrymore)
*American Beauty
*Disturbing Behavior
*Rain

The Butterfly Effect and Mr. Brooks both got to me. But the first I enjoyed more and would (possibly) see again. Wouldn't go near the second again, it was horrible.

I read about this. In fact, I bought the dvd for my brother-in-law a few years back for Christmas.

I don't think I'll ever watch it. XD

I saw the anime movie "Paprika" and it seriously made me feel like I'd just been on a drug trip. Still not sure if I liked it or not. It was just trippy.

As for disturbing, the Child's Play movies scared the heck out of me as a kid (for some odd reason, my grandmother really liked to watch horror movies--so I was exposed to a lot from a young age --I think I've had enough horror flicks for the rest of my life...:eh:)

Also, The Nightmare on Elm Street
Truth or Dare --very, very just ugh.

I looooooooooove Paprika to death. Satoshi Kon is a genius and a wonderful director. XD

I second the evangelion movie.

Personally, I thought clockwork orange made too much sense to be disturbing. What I didn't like about it was how boring it was. The book was freakin aces though.

Did you know that the Eva movie is apparently a total ripoff of the Space Runaway Ideon movie? I haven't seen either, but my fiance has seen both and says that Gainax TOTALLY ripped off Ideon. XD He also said that the Ideon movie was one of the most disturbing things he'd ever seen.

Neon Genesis Evangelion: End of Evangelion
Mulholland Drive
The Cell

Movies that were very disturbing but really good to quite good:
OldBoy
The Ring
American Psycho

Oh man, I loved Paprika. XD I really liked the concept and the mixture of "the dream world" and real life, and I was mesmerized by the animation. XD I won't say it's not "trippy" in parts, but I still loved it. XDD

As far as movies that disturbed me goes...one of them was probably The Elephant Man. It was more tragic than it was disturbing, though.

That's really the only one I can think of at the moment. XD I don't watch a lot of horror films or movies that could be disturbing, so I can't think of very many at all. XD

I saw that movie when I was fairly young, and I don't remember that scene. XD I didn't like AI at all, though--I just thought it was stupid. XD It's probably good that I've blocked that from my memory, then. XD

Call me weak, but I was watching part of Castaway on TV and I had to stop watching it...it was really making me feel uncomfortable, and it was tiring me out too. I mean, watching some guy scrape his feet underwater and have them bleed is kind of...blech...*shiver*

And while I haven't seen either Cloverfield or Sweeney Todd, the reviews I read on the PluggedIn review site were disturbing enough.

I'd have to say Sleepy Hollow, which I saw yesterday (well, part of it). Let's just put it this way--it was disturbing in many ways. And painfully hard to understand.

Silent Hill for me. Not that it grossed me out, but it really wasn't in the least bit interesting to watch.

I saw The Butterfly Effect Director's Cut edition first. Now, was it that version you are referring to? In that ending--
The main character decides that he is a danger to everyone he loves and travels back to the moment of his birth to strangle himself with his umbilical cord.
It had some moments of brilliance, but it was practically ruined by that ridiculous ending. @_@

I don't watch to many scary movies, but out of the few that I have this was the scariest.

The end of the first Saw movie, which was the best out of the series IMO.
When Jigsaw gets up and walks to the exit, revealing he had been in the room the whole time, shuts the lights out and says "Game Over" and shuts the doors, leaving the kid, can't remember his name, alone in the dark screaming and pleading to be let out while he's still chained to the pipe as the credits begin to roll.
That scene just sent massive shivers down my spine when I saw it, because I couldn't help but think of how terrifying it would be to be in that situation.

Plugged In always seems to make it 50 times worse than it really is... Though, the reviews are useful.

What is Clockwork Orange?
