I just realized something! In 1928, Disney released its classic short, Steamboat Willie, which was also the first appearance of that loveable Mickey Mouse! That means this year marks his 80th birthday! So, let's have a hand for America's favorite mouse!
If you need proof for this, click here: Steamboat Willie on Wikipedia
BTW, if anyone wants to watch this classic short, click here! Bask in all the retro glory!

Wow...

So, can we agree that Micky is an alien or some mythical animal now?

HE DOESN'T EVEN HAVE A SINGLE GRAY HAIR. XD

I don't think he even hit puberty yet. I mean his voice is still really high pitched

Happy Birthday Mickey Mouse!
But more importantly, Tintin turned 79 on January 10.
(Tintin's far better) lol

At the end of one Pinky And the Brain episode they show a man dozing off in a movie theater after watching Brain's five plus hour epic. When Brain or someone else turns the light back on he is seen staring at the screen at an image of Brain that is still there and starts to doodle crazily.
At this point Brain makes a comment about how silly he was to think a mouse would be able to take over the world using film.
The point being of course that the man was really supposed to represent
Walt Disney.
Disney of course worked on other animated projects and also live projects prior to inventing Mickey. One of those was Oswald the Rabbit.

A mere whippersnapper! Jed Clampett (or rather, Buddy Ebsen) wil be 100 on April 2

Okay, I admit, that was completely irrelevant.

Actually, Minnie is just as old as Mickey. However, Steamboat Willie is not credited as her 1st appearance because she wasn't named yet. Technical!

Wouldn't it be anniversary, not b-day? Oh wait, they didn't name her, right.

;)

Actually, ETF's post struck me as more surprising then the OP. Are you talking about the black and white series that still gets shown sometimes on TV? If so, that's pretty amazing.

M I C, K E Y, M O U S EEEEEEEE.

Dang, so he's been courting Minnie for 4/5 of a century? Thaaat's kind of ridiculous =D. Even Goofy hooked up, guess Mickey's just not enough of a man.
