The Predator:

I like the Alien stuff way better than Predator, even though the 3rd and 4th Alien movies were crapfests. However, I don't really care for the Alien Vs. Predator franchise, heh.

Also, xenomorphs don't spit acid, they have acid for blood. :P

Correction actually they can also spit acid even though it was only seen in one movie, Aliens, the Commander gets some acid spit in to it happened on the train i beleave. his face right before he proceeds to stick a shotgun in the Xenomorphs mouth and kill it.

I did not like the first AvsP because they jammed 2 R rated films into a PG-13 shell. Which was a dumb idea. The movie suffered because of it. However, everything I have seen for this R rated sequal looks much better.

Btw. Predators all the way.

Thats why i thank God for Unrated versions givin its not too much better only like 15 extra mins. Yeah I always thought it should have been rated R. The still certainly pushed the Pg-13 limits

Xenos also pop outta you when you least expect it too. But I have to say Predators they have a better attitude when they gut you, not just a quick tail impalement and it's over. Oh no, they stalk you, mock you, corner you and then with style off you. :)

Plus the movies should have followed the Dark Horse graphic novel, leave it in the time frame of Cameron's "Aliens" and put in the Colonial Marines. Instead of some po-dunk town.

We lose.

I much preferred the gritty-space, sci-fi, suspenseful thriller that was Alien to the (in my opinion) basic horror flick that was Predator.

Yeah, the first Alien movie was an example of some great filmmaking. Plus, Ripley is awesome.

Aliens was an example of even better filmmaking xD And Alien Resurrection is an example of bad filmmaking (actually, it wasn't badly made, it just... well sucked).

Anyway I'm an Alien person myself. I didn't care for Predator and the Aliens look much more unique and stylized while predators look like someone in a costume with dreadlocks.

Predator all the way, baby.

If you're talking the creatures themselves? Predators. If you're talking the movies, Aliens was the best out of all of those movies. Easily.

Most creepy and amazingly terrifying creature? Aliens, of course. But I'm rooting for Predator and whoever has the guts to fight Aliens (Sigourney was awesome) and LIVES.
They both kicked the bucket in the end, didn't they?
Silly question: Why does Predator go after Aliens? Someone told me it had something to do with Predators being bounty hunters and for every alien they kick, they eh....boost their manhood/status whatever. Or is that total B.S?

I prefer Predator.
Look at Alien, he just has lame attacks like scratches, stabs, acid.. and that tongue thing. (Ewww....)
.... And Predator has the awesomely cool attacks. Like lazers, invisibility, missiles, retractable blades, explosions, everything.

So, Predator, once again will defeat Alien :)

But if the aliens are some lame and the Predators so tough and awesome why did only one make it out of AVP1 and well
He still died at the very end and gave birth to something much much worse
But i do agree Predators are cooler but well aliens seem to be more brutal in some ways.

Saw it.

It sucked, unfortunately.

Surprising, actually, considering it came from the guys responsible for Day After Tomorrow and 300. But I guess even good directors fail occasionally.

In recap, it's basically every bad cliched monsters-kill-everybody film you've seen, all rolled into one. The Predator's presence was it's only saving grace, and unfortunately even he did not have nearly enough screentime to save the film. Am I a bad person for rooting for him over the humans?

I haven't seen any of the Alien or Predator movies and only bits of the combined one, but I'd really like to know what the baby creature-thing is that
comes out of the dead Predator on the slab at the end of the movie?
(Personally I don't really consider this a spoiler, but just to be safe).
Is it Predator or Alien or... both? I don't know the history very well, but as far as I was aware; aliens hatched from hosts but my brother says it looks like a predator. So can anyone tell me what it is?

P.S I voted predator, based on the armour and weapons ;)

I wonder what happened to that lady (I forgot her name) at the end of the first movie. Is she even in Requiem?

I saw it too. Sadly, I must agree with Azier. The first AvP was better. This one seemed to be a more violent and gory rip-off of Gremlins and Critters...but not as good as either. :( I think the biggest problem was that they wasted so much time developing the "Dawson's Creek" teenage cast, and not enough on good Alien and Predator action. and...
Only one Predator? The last movie at least had 3, even if two of them got killed early.
In the end, the only part I thought was really cool was...
The end, when the goverment brought the Predator gun to "Mrs. Yutani", of Weyland-Yutani, (the evil company from the Alien movies) hinting that the company's technology (and desire to capture and study the Alien life form) may have startedwith this incident
Yeah thats the cool thing about AVP1 and 2 (which i have not seen but i could care less about spoilers) They through subtle hints at the original alien movies.

Ok so i actually saw AVPR last night. It was a better movie than i thought. It was alot more gorier but that kinda fits the frachises. I agree i could have been alot better. But for what it was i liked it. Avp 1 was better with the story for sure but AVPR had some cool action.

Anyone else notice how similar the ending was to
Resident Evil when the government nuked Raccoon City?
