Does anybody here like Gloomy Bear? He's a cute-but-gory mascot created by Mori Chack. He was featured in Giant Robot Magazine Issue 46. Gloomy is for kids but he's a violent bear who attacks a kid named Pity all the time. He's violent but cute.

I have never heard of this, but it sounds pretty wild. Have a link to any info?

Here's a synopsis in greater detail:

Gloomy, an abandoned little bear, is rescued by Pity (the little boy). At first, he is cute and cuddly, but becomes more wild as he grows up. Since bears do not become attached to people like dogs by nature, Gloomy attacks Pity even though he is the owner. So Gloomy has blood on him from biting and/or scratching Pity. The Gloomy with blood is called Chax Colony Edition.

If he was created by an American I would have said that his creator had some sort of Gentle Ben complex.

Actually it was created by a Japanese guy named Mori Chack. He certainly is crazy. The website is http://www.gloomybear.net/index_en.php but be forewarned it contains often disturbing yet cartoony violence. Think Hello Kitty meets Grizzly Man and you get Gloomy Bear.
