The Passion's new DVD?

Postby Crossdive » Tue Feb 13, 2007 9:48 pm

I noticed that according to DVDAficionado.com, it has 2 versions of the film. One is the theatrical, and one is simply referred to as a Recut and is shorter in running time. Can anyone tell me what the difference between the two versions is? Please be as thorough as possible. Thanks, and God bless!

You could try Amazon; they may have a longer description. I know a "special editon" 2-disc set is either comming out soon or just came out. (And if it's been out for a while...dang I'm out of it.)

The "Recut" could just be all extras stripped out....I can't say I know, though. I usually hit up either the movie's official site or Amazon for my DVD questions.

The Recut version would likely have the more extreme gore and violence edited out. That's my understanding anyway.

The Re-cut is the one that was re-released in theaters around Easter in 2005? (maybe 2004) that noone saw. It was cut to try and get a lower rating to get more people to beable to see it but it was still R so they decided to have it "Not Rated". And yea I think its less gore/violence and such but I dont think much from what I heard. It was pretty much just a cheap cash in plan to make money on the same movie twice, that flopped.
