Starting on January 21 Sci Fi Channel will air Battlestar Galactica on
Sundays at 10:00 p.m.
Inquiring people want to know why they would want to make such a move and what do they plan on replacing Galactica with on Fridays.

They know Battlestar is a hit so they changed it. The new show will be on Friday because they do not know if it will be liked. Friday is a safe day because not many networks show their hits on Fridays.

If I were a cynic, I would say that the SciFi Channel is run by a bunch of elitists that don’t seem to want science fiction to gain mass-appeal. They feel the shows like Star Trek: TNG brought too many people into their nice little corner of the universe and flooded their conventions and chat rooms with a bunch of plebeians who do not understand true Sci Fi and constantly make fun of those who do.
Kind of like those who still rally against anime dubs and show up at cons to tell us why a live action Evangelion is obscenity and should not be allowed, mostly because of the rumor Hillary Duff is to play Asuka.
As such, anything that does get too popular, must be torpedoed quickly.

Well, that stinks. As for the reason.... perhaps they are balancing their week line-ups? Heroes, Doctor Who, and Battlerstar on the same night seems like overkill to me. Who knows what goes on in those crazy boardroom meetings.
Nevertheless, this is yet another reason why I just wait on the DVDs.

Sounds like they want to deliberately sink the series. It is not unheard of that TV stations and / or movie studios do these things to spite someone connected with a project.

Now I am wondering what will replace it.Perhaps they're saving it for the new season of Atlantis is the only thing I can think of.Though if they were doing that why they didn't simply move Galactica to 10 on Friday is another question.
Also it will come after the new series The Dresden Files,so I don't know if that bodes good or bad.Or if they made the move simply to get people to watch
The Dresden Files because they knew most people would stick around for Galactica.

With their luck Mason probably did the reaping.
Ok...I am done with references to Dead Like Me.
P.S. starting next month 2 hours of everyone's favorite Borgette on Spike
as Voyager will be on at 5 & 6 p.m. Mon.-Fri.
