Captain Planet
Gumby
Rescue Rangers
Talespin
Duckwing Duck
Ducktales

Mid-1980s I think.
Ninja turtles were great, yes!
No aitak, ofcourse I'm not calling you old.
Roger Ramjet was... lacking.
As was Henry's Cat and all the other dodgy ABC brain trash.
Widget the World Watcher was pretty awesome though.

The Turtles were pretty good, but I think the newer series is better as each episode builds on the previous one with an overarching plot.
The old one seemed to have lacked that crucial element.

HE-MAN
"AND THE MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE!"
Yes, that was my favorite old school cartoon, and in fact, remains one of my favorite cartoons to this day. I also really enjoyed Voltron and Ninja Turtles, though the old school Ninja Turtles is pretty mediocre by today's standards (they were too goofy...). Ducktales was another favorite, and Darkwing Duck.
I also liked the Noozles. XD

Hey mate, did you know you can buy them on DVD for like 10 bucks per volume (4 eps per vol.) now at places like Myer and JB? I got them all and some of those feature length ones (including Mask of The Phantasm and Sub-Zero).
Kaemmerite - you said it! He-Man rocks!!! I read somewhere that originally it was meant to be a Conan the Barbarian cartoon, but it was deemed to have too much violence and sex and thus not suitable for children. Hence it became He-Man (but it even then it was originally going to be called He-Ro).
Do you have any favourite characters from that show? Mine is Fist-O, but he made few appearances.
Does anyone remember M.A.S.K. or Defenders of the Earth? I also remember Challenge of the Might Go-Bots, but in some cases the past is best left forgotten. Haha.
Also, since we are talking about this, I found this site:
http://www.retrojunk.com/
It contains many opening videos of 70s - 90s TV shows (including cartoons!) that you can watch on the site.
Ah .. they bring back many fond memories.

Really Ultra? I'll have to look into it. Do they have boxsets also?
I love Mask of the Phantasm - what an awesome Batman movie!

I think I saw Target selling volumes 1 and 2 together for 20 bucks. It wasn't a boxed set though, they just sticky-taped the shrink wrapped DVD cases together.
I believe there are actually boxed sets, but perhaps not region 4 yet (or maybe never). I think they are realised in the US and/or UK only.
By now I have resigned myself to the fact that Australia seems to always get the short end of the stick when it comes to DVD releases, comic titles, and toys availability and pricing compared to places such as USA, Japan, Canada and the UK. * cries *
JB Hi Fi is a good source of the Batman cartoon DVDs - I got most of mine (including Mask of the Phantasm) there for 10 bucks each. K-Mart and Myer also have some stock. With K-Mart you have to kinda browse through the shelves because sometimes they get misplaced (bad in that they are hard to find, good in that they won't get bought out easily).
If none of the places have them I think you can order through JB - just need to wait a few weeks but they can do it.
At Myer, I also saw the new animated series of Spider-Man (the one with some CG elements), but it's only vol. 1, however 15 bucks for 2 discs is a hard deal to beat.
All the best with your DVD hunt.

I'll throw in a vote for the animated Batman series too. Mark Hamill was brilliant as the Joker in that series and plays him the best IMO. His laugh alone was chilling and dead on for the character.
I'll also add:
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
G.I. Joe (Can't believe no one's put this up yet)
SWAT Cats
George of the Jungle
Inspector Gadget
The Fox Spider-man cartoon (Not the 60's or Amazing Friends, the 90's one. Couldn't stand the other two.)
That's all I got for now.

Probably Orko and Cringer. I can't really remember anyone else of note.
As an aside, I thought the new He-Man cartoon from a couple of years back was really awesome, but my biggest complaint was Cringer didn't talk. :\

Ofcourse Inspector Gadget! How could I forget him?
Thanks Ultra, will do.
(Yes, we get the short end of a very long stick)
