Worst Jobs In History

Postby mitsuki lover » Sat Oct 22, 2005 1:56 pm

Anyone else ever watch this English series when it aired on History Channel?
Basically what it was was going through different periods of English history
and highlighting the very worse possible jobs people would have held in those periods. The presenter(Tony Robinson)used a hands on approach as
with the help of experts he would try each job for himself. Some of them
were in fact very nasty. For example for the Victorian period one of the
jobs he explored was that of Ratcatcher. He literally had to reach in and
grab a rat that was hiding in some straw.
Of course unless you saw the one with the leeches...

Well, apparently I'm quite suited to being a scavenger. Try the Worst Jobs Quiz.

If I remember aright Tony Robinson played Baldrick on Blackadder whose
"clever plans" always involved turnips for some strange reason.

Anyway, I've seen the show! I remember seeing him talk about how being a boy sucked in England, especially the boys in plays who had to dress up as girls and wear that lead filled makeup, ugh.

I'm a wattle and daub applier, based on my answer to the very last question...
Job 7:16

I loathe my life; I would not live forever. Let me alone, for my days are but a breath.
