'Tis time to start a new thread about one kind of show on TV that has been often overlooked -- the game show! ^_^ So other than the longest-running ones like The Price is Right, Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy, what are/were your favorites -- past or present?

The match game. Although, it's kind of risque at times. I never realized that watching it as a kid, but now that I've seen the reruns on the g ame show network, I kind of shudder sometimes.

(I take it that most of you don't like to watch other people play games? )

Some of my favorites that I liked to watch when I was much younger included Family Feud, The $25000 Pyramid, Super Password, Press Your Luck, Scrabble, Classic Concentration, Catch Phrase, and a few more whose names I've forgotten. Ah... those were the good days. ^______^

I really liked all those old nickelodeon game shows like Double Dare, Guts, and Legends of the Hidden Temple. But The Price is Right will always be the best one

I'm actually a (geek, I know) big Jeopardy fan. I think the reason why I have a hard time remembering numbers is that my brain is already full of useless trivia. I do wonder what the trick is to the buzzers, though. Some people have a really hard time with them.

I'm hugely into game shows, but I watch "Who Wants to Be a Millionare?" almost all the time when its on. In Australia "Catch Phrase" was hosted by a guy called Burgo. The idea of "Catch Phrase" is fantastic, but the implementation of the idea was badly done, probably in part to the annoying host. But then again, Eddie McQuire of "Who Wants to Be a Millionare?" can also be quite annoying at times!

I'm not sure what it was called, but this show on Nickelodeon where you had to guess what a kid did... I know there's a "grown up" version that predated it too... I don't know what that was called either... Summer Sanders (gold medalist swimmer) hosted it, and they had nickelodeon stars on a panel of question askers... They'd always ask fake questions for the first two rounds, so that the kid would never walk away emptyhanded... The last round was up for grabs, though (though that could have been faked as well) I loved that show... At least one of the people on that show ended up with a commercial deal with Frosted Flakes because of being on that show... At least that's what I'm guessing... The commercial came out after she was on that show.

I don't dislike Wheel and Jeopardy... I don't watch them by choice, though.
