Just a couple small little questions.

Okay... what exactly is bandwidth? And what is hot and direct linking? I don't know anything about computers...

Bandwidth: if you think of your Internet connection as a pipe, bandwidth is analogous to the diametre of that pipe. A pipe with a bigger diametre admits more water through per unit of time (faster flow). Likewise, a high-bandwidth connection can accept more data, more quickly; and consuming bandwidth means your "pipe" has more data running through it, meaning less space for data is left.

I'm not sure what you mean by hot, but direct linking: rather than taking an image or a picture and putting it on your computer or website for people to access, you're just leaving a link to where it was to download it from the original site. It's a matter of opinion, but since I have some sites that tend to get victimized by direct linking, I discourage it because you're eating the bandwidth of that site by having them download their image for your own purposes. It would be more polite to upload the image to your own server and link to it there in many cases.

Hope this helped, kinda ^_^

Bandwidth, in computer terms, is the amount of information that can be moved in a given amount of time over a connection. Hot linking and direct linking are what we do for our sig pictures... display the picture through a link hosted on another site... , I believe that's right...

EDIT: Ah, spoof, shooraijin beat me.... ^^

Bandwidth, in its simplist terms, is basically a measurement of how much traffic a web site gets. Direct (hot) linking is providing a link directly to a specific file on someone else's website.

Hope that helps. ^_^ (Maybe someone else can explain further if I missed something.)

Edit: Sorry, I didn't know Link and Shoo already replied to this. I'm just too slow, I guess... ^_^;
