Same virus. Don't click on "Use this patch immediately."

Hey All,

Looks like the patch.exe virus is going around again. Make sure you don't click on it. It shows up in your email in the form of a Microsoft Security Update email. Just delete any email from Microsoft that says, "Use this patch immediately." Microsoft will NEVER send out patches over email, so don't worry about missing one.

This thing again? Ah well.

I'm amazed by the stupid viruses people will get. If I believed in hacking, I'd make a virus that sends e-mails with the subject line "This is a virus." I'll bet people would open in. Sigh...

Suffice to say, this has been done. I'll just leave it at that.

Viruses...
You would think these people would have more constructive things to do instead of messing up other people's computers.

MasterDias I think that same thing too. I was thinking the other day how if I had that intelligence I would make a virus to HELP peoples computers. Like I would make a virus to destroy any bad viruses on the persons computer. I don't understand why people who have the capability always want to use it to just bring harm and frustration to others.

You know, there was a worm that was released a while ago that looked for systems infected with the RPC exploit worm variants, then DLd and installed the patch. Effectively, it killed off the worm, then deleted itself.

Heh. I hadn't heard that.

I don't even have a computer hooked up to the internet, and I'm not registered for anything. Then I hear about this patch for a product I don't have...
