Well, if you wanted, I could host you. We'll give you 25 MBs to start out with. http://www.just-kidding.net/hi.htm You can click on the link if you want more info. Never mind that it says 15 MBs(that's old, when we had less space:D). If you don't know HTML, I can teach you or http://www.just-kidding.net/tutorial.htm you can read these tutorials(start off with paragraph and basic). Also, we'll set you up with a nice layout. ^_^ Let me know if you're interested.

hmm sounds interesting...

but will I need to use all those html tags for everything or is this an upload site where I can just upload my pages via a browse..feature?

I have only built two websites in my life..and they were for a class...and I had a program called dreamweaver. It did all the coding for me...

thanks for the offer KB!

You would use a program called FTP to take files from your computer onto the internet. I don't know if you can use page-builders for this. I can give you everything you need(a layout, a layout template) so that you'll only have to code a little. All you'll basically need to know is how to make a paragraph and how to put up links and images. I can also teach you some nifty little tricks that might come in handy.
If you decide not to, I would recommend http://www.freewebs.com or http://www.bravenet.com I don't know if Freewebs would be best though, since you can only have 50 files without paying. So, that's not good for a webmanga. Unless you're doing a one shot. And you only get 7 web pages, and 7 paragraphs per page. Bravenet, I haven't used much. It does have templates and stuff and I THINK they have a sitebuilder. I don't use it so I don't know. I only use it to host my images and then I put those images on my site. Hope I could be of some help!

Thanks KBM!!! I am seriously thinking about your site! Your tutorial for paragraphs should help me out with that! ^_^v

I don't have dreamweaver at my home anyway...

I will seriously think about your offer..in the meantime I will go ahead and start working on my webmanga! Thanks a bunch!! ^^

I be in much the same boat as ChristianRonin.

*shameless plug*

If you are looking for an easy way to do a webmanga, you can always use mangaview.

http://flactem.com/index.php?action=mangaview

It works pretty well, and if you need extra features, just ask. :thumb:

You'll need to have webspace on a server somewhere, but you can use the mangaview program to easily create/update the site.

And yeah, that's my website; I wrote that program.

Interesting program Mith.....

As for the webspace, if you're lucky you may get some free hosting that uses CPanel, and has Fantastico. If so, you can install any number of things, from blogs, to forums and complete CMS systems with a few clicks.
I have some spare (free) hosting that has this feature if you are interested. You won't get a fancy domain name, but you can easily register a free cjb.net domain and use that.

Thanks! It's a usefull little one. I actually wrote that as a favor for Inkhana before she got to be all famous. Enough people liked it that it was spun out as it's own app. Now she's gone on to bigger and better things. I think I updated mangaview to a new version since then, but it probably needs to be redone again. We were actually talking about a "webmanga" presence on CAA, but discounted that for various reasons.

I use freepgs.com
It isn't free, but it only costs $3 as a one-time startup fee. They have plenty of features:

100MB Storage, PHP, Custom Error Documents, Unlimited MySQL databases, True FTP Access, Direct Domain Hosting Support, 3GB Bandwidth/Day.

They have had a couple of reliability issues in the past, but I think they've got the problems ironed out.

Another choice I've used in the past is t35.com
I think they still have unlimited webspace with 500KB max-file-size, but I think they put pop-ups on all your pages.

Sorry, I couldn't get onto CAA for a couple days. And, yes, you may "enter into consideration." We have more space than we need, so it'd be no problem. Just drop me a PM or email me at sora_rox@yahoo.com . :D

Well, if she wanted to, she could use some of our webspace. Some free web spaces only let you have a limited amount of files, or are just plain stupid. So, CR, if you're interested, PM or email me. Hope you can get this all sorted out. :P

OK! I will consider these options! If I understand things correctly I will need to have a webspace (meaning a host site like KBMaster's) to use Mith's program...right?

thanks you guys! ^_^v

Yup. Once you have that space, copy over my program and edit it to meet your needs. There is documentation inside that shows how it works, of you can just post support requests and I'll help you figure out what is/isn't working.

Good luck!

googlepages.com

Easy, but you pretty much have to choose from templates.

if anyone needs a Gmail account invitation (needed to create googlepages), I could provide one.

Hiya ^__^

I second Mith's suggestion for the mangaviewer. That's what I use for my webcomic and it's been wonderful. Once you figure out what to put where it's really easy to use. Much easier than coding it all myself, and it looks really nice.

By the way, I never got to thank you for writing that program, Mith - thank you so much. Ink sent it to me and it's been a big help ^^ I love it.
