Just a quick note about Unicode.

Not all font packages can render all characters. For example, when I type in japanese - にほんご = unicode に ;ほ ;ん ;ご ; - the browser is really using a different font to render it (in the case of my browser, it's using the Kotoeri package. All that to say, if you are using different fonts in the chat, even it it looks fine to you, another user's computer may not be able to render it correctly.
