Mystery Pixel

I had this show up on my computer yesterday and it doesn't go away. It seems to show up on the Desktop only (or wallpaper over it), but not in programs or on the internet. It looks like a dead pixel, except I use a CRT and it shows up on a screenshot as you can see.
Anyone know what it means in terms of what component is gonna blow on my computer?
I ran PC Doctor on it and everything came up fine

So to make sure I'm hearing this correctly, you say that it DOES show up over another desktop wallpaper? The reason I'm asking for clarification is it looks like a bulleted image was somehow set as the desktop.
Just out of curiosity, what happens when you right click it?
Also, when's the last time you updated your video drivers?

Uh, that's just one of those tile-able images, just that it's not tiled. Sort of like a wallpaper, a tiny tiny wallpaper. Thought Windows removed it completely by now...
I wouldn't worry about it. How to remove it though, keep prodding the display properties thingy.

Well, I upgraded my drivers today to see how that worked. Also checked my desktop to make sure it was set to (none) for wallpaper, changed the resolution, but none of that does anything to it. It shows up once everything is fully running.
It shows up with or without wallpaper but not through a program window over it

Um, do you have Hijackthis? If so, could you post a hijackthis log?

No... never heard of it. Is it something downloadable?

Just do a google search for hijackthis, dl the prog, then run it and ask it to save a logfile. Afterwards, copy and paste it here, then (in the words of the great Stephen Colbert) "Daddy's going to tell you... all you need to know"

Managed to kill it.
Leads to my next question... anyone know a decent firewall (not Zone Alarm) compatible with Trend Micro?

Have one. I'm interested in a software firewall. Zone Alarm used to be good, but now it seems to conflict with XP upgrades
