The computers kinda slow... someone shut of Norotn and went online... little brothers and a sister... Meh...
Anyway. There are two hard drives. The C (main) drive is 120 gigs and and the F (storage) drive is 80 gigs. The F drive is also slightly faster. Is there a way to save everything and switch drives and reload Windows XP Pro without having to put everything on cd? I was thinking that I could jsut take everything off the F Drive and put it on the C Drive then TURN OFF the machine, switch the two or only connect the 80 gig drive and install the os on it. THen I'd connect the 120 gig drive and jsut delete all the old files... :eh:

If you suspect you have a virus and/or spyware, swapping the drives won't solve the actual problem. You can clean them after the fact, sometimes, though.

You're probably better off backing up the data (data only - NO PROGRAMS!!!) to CD-R and blasting BOTH drives.

Once you're clean and set up again, I recommend using your XP Pro to back up regularly so you don't lose much if you run into a problem like that. I keep mine on an external HD that is only turned on for backups or restores to reduce odds of corruption.

<EDIT> if you do get an external drive, make sure you format it to NTFS before you try to back up everything... as I found out the hardway...

Ooo okay.

Saving everytihng to a disk is such a pain... I'll ahve to get an external... I'll just save things to DVDs then. But it's acting up... Maybe CDs then.

Get them quick before it dies... then it's a mess to try to recover old data
