Sometimes people do dumb things.

I don't know how many people have done this before, but I have a personal computer, and it is has glitches and problems from the ground up.

I set up 2 log-on, profile, usernamey thingy's. (You can tell I'm professional  ) Well I have Windows 2000 and one of the logon username thingy's is on the admin. level and the other is not.

I for some stupid(multiplied by 1000) reason thought it would be a good idea to make passwords for them, so guess what? Thats right, I forget the password for the higher security level and only remember the password for the lower securtiy level. Now I can't install or uninstall hardware and I need to fix my printer and install an internet service!

I pretty much did this:comp: and now I'm doing this :bang:

Although I didn't really destroy my computer, I screwed things up. Luckily my sister and her friend are experted with computers...to a degree. My sisters friend took a look at the computer and worked with it for a while to no avail.

So now my computer is off in some distant land to get it's hardrive replaced. At least I had good enough sense to make back ups of all my stories and pictures.

Moral of this story?

WRITE DOWN YOUR BLINKING PASSWORD! :mutter:

So has anyone done anything dumber with their computer or what?

 Now I feel dumb...

But then again I think my sisters friend tried that. I didn't have the original 2000 software disk anymore, and I needed a new hardrive anyways.

There are ways of getting lost admin passwords. If you'd posted before sending the machine out for the replacement, You might not even have needed a reinstall.
