It's cool! Go see it! Quick! Don't make me use the $19.99 hypnotizing technique on you!

Awesome; I'm totally there! ^_^ (And what a shameless plug. ^_~ )

(Hope you guys over there will accept a redeemed game developer, not just redeemed gamers...)

It had to be a shameless plug. It's my sister's site...;) he he And you bet, maybe a redeemed game developer can make some games to entertain us redeemed gamers? LOL! jk

Well, I joined up this morning; but since then for some reason I've been having technical problems. Whenever I try to post a reply to the great welcome that I got, I either get an error message or can't connect at all; either way, I can't get back into the site for a long time.

But I'll forgive for that since it's relatively new. ^_~

For the last three weeks or so the site's been down, claiming to be up again on a new server by the 17th (never happened). Now, for the past couple of days, I've kept getting that "server not found" error. Does anyone have any news on this?

That would be because I'm in the process of changing over the server. The story...is something like this. You know how the old server stank with a mighty reek? Well, we were gonna change it. Well, the new one wouldn't resolve the new domain name (because the first server had somehow locked it). After a long running battle with the second and first servers, we have now moved to a third, and I'm in the process of trying to get tech support (to put it bluntly, an unhelpful tech support) to help me out. But I'm working on it, I promise...-_- (Oh yeah, BTW, I'm responsible for the webmastery stuff...O.o)

I know all too well; if the power supply fan gives out, the inside of the computer gets hot and starts smelling like burning plastic. (Usually my mom catches it before I do. )

Seriously, I figured you were having some technical problems on your end. I'd offer to help, but I'm a total dummy when it comes to network troubleshooting. I hope you get it sorted out soon; let us know when you do. ^_^

(By the way, I thought Bluerose owned 3xrevolution.net...?)

She does, technically, but I webmaster the whole server (poorly, apparently). Rose and I are the "we" I speak of. <---grammatically poor sentence? LOL I'm waiting on a support ticket from this new place; they want me to do all this business through telnet and I'm not able to log in properly for some reason...:stressed:

I've been having some trouble with the site tonight. I was able to log in fine and even posted something, but in the middle of browsing I started getting an error message entitled "There appears to be an error with the Guild of Redeemed Gamers database" with an error code that looked something like this:

Code: Select all
mySQL query error: SELECT f.*, c.id as cat_id, c.position as cat_position, c.state as cat_state, c.name as cat_name, c.description as cat_desc,
c.image, c.url, m.member_name as mod_name, m.member_id as mod_id, m.is_group, m.group_id, m.group_name, m.mid
FROM ibf_forums f, ibf_categories c
LEFT JOIN ibf_moderators m ON (f.id=m.forum_id)
WHERE c.id=f.category
ORDER BY c.position, f.position
mySQL error: Got error -1 from table handler
mySQL error code: 1030
Date: Wednesday 19th of May 2004 12:42:54 AM

Any ideas? (Maybe I just need to run ScanDisk and/or restart Windows...)

It's ok...there are some problems with the SQL database. It's nothing that we can repair, though...-_-;; 3xr is down for the moment too...I may have to call Rose later and see what's going on.

I was just there and it looks like everything's fine now. Thanks Ink! ^_^
