Umm....okay....what browser are you using? IE and Netscape work fine for me...well, it's not really Netscape, it's Mozilla....Could you send me a screenshot of what it looked like? I'd appreciate it....
Thanks,
Calbh

Eheh...this isn't my thread but I'll just jump in here. Calbh's site was tested on IE 5.5 (and 6 I think somewhere along the line) but these were for PC. Mozilla was also tested, and it appeared correctly. I'm not sure why a Mac would affect the page adversely though...should all be the same. Doesn't make any sense...the whole thing was set into one big table, and yet it's acting like two. Non-IE and Non-Netscape browsers (MSN I know of had the exact same reaction) have a tendency to do this, and I am not certain why this is, or what steps could be taken to correct it. All I know is that it does work correctly on our machine. Weird.
(Five thousand different ways of doing things! Why can't they STANDARDIZE this stuff! ARGGGG! Uh, don't answer that...LOL)

Well I wouldn't know how to fix a problem like that to save my life.
Gee I wish that this stuff would just work right for everyone......

I tried in Ie 5.5 for pc and got the same results... alignment of background header is on the left and and the rest is aligned center towards right.
this also happened on the MAC with netscape7.0 and ie5
in netscape 7 on the pc... it aligned fine...!!!
I would just double check the spacing.
Otherwise pretty neat little gaming site.. all the links worked ok, but bandwidth for download of pics was a little slow.
nice site!

Your website looks pretty nice. But I haven't had the problems that some of the others have had. The problem may be an unpatched bug in the other web browsers or your rows aren't horizontally aligned properly and that can cause some problems with tables too. Mozilla 1.3 works fine for me and as for IE 6.0, well I don't wan't to reinstall windows again to fix its problems. Such as not able to connect to other web sites and no ability to right click on web pages (where it would have been).

Well, at least some people aren't having these problems. Anyway, thanks for all of the comments everyone!

i'll tell you why. too many < br > tags.
try to use a table outside the entire page, or just create the top section as another frame page.

by calbhach
Hmmm..That's weird. I didn't know that a whole bunch on those kind of tags would cause that kind of a problem.
Why does that cause that kind of problem? It worked just fine on my computer, once I GOT it to work. It was a pain just to get the way it is. I hate to change any of it though, cause it aready completely programmed and everything.... Maybe it's not as complicated as I think it is.
Thanks,
Calbh

i found out why that's wrong, simply because when i made the screen small the site works fine, but anything a bit too big it doesn't work.
just use tables to format it. unless you have notepad only to do it, which is a bugger i must admit, it should be fairly simple to do.

Hey, everything looked great, the tables in stuff were all in order. Kudos. But one thing: All of the pictures of Zelda fan art were broken, and didn't work.

people who have 800x600 DT resolution should have no problem viewing it.
i, myself, use 1024x768, thus the site gives layout problems.
that's why i use 1280x1024 when i'm graphic/web designing.

I use 1600x1200...

Umm, buddy, I hate to tell you this, but they work just fine for me. I went directly to the site, checked out one of them, and it was just fine. Try reloading the page. Maybe it just didn't do quite right.....OH I DON'T KNOW! I'm so horribly confused!

I looked at the site before with Opera 6.0 and now with Opera 7.1 (or something like that).. .it renders fine for me, and I've only got my display set at 800x600.
BTW, it looks like you hand-coded it... good job if you did. (I'm a notepad HTMLer myself
).

Thanks for the comments, Phil.
BTW, for all of you who were having problems, try these new ones.
Here are the URLs:
http://calbhach.www2.dotnetplayground.com/indexdummycopy.html
and
http://calbhach.www2.dotnetplayground.com/indexdummycopywithtable.html
Just try both of them and tell me which one works and which one doesn't.
Thanks everyone for all of the help.
