Having a printer problem

It just stopped working. I have no idea why. It was working a couple weeks ago, but when I tried priniting yesterday, it sounded like it was going to make an attempt and the light was blinking, but it never did. And when I tried it again, it didn't do a single thing. :?:

What model is it and what lights are blinking? (and steady/blinking/blinking fast/off) Also, do you get an error message? If so, what is it?

It's a Hewlett Packard Deskjet 610CL and the lights blinking are the power light and the paper light. Well, they were blinking. They're not anymore. And no error message.

try the following

press on/off multiple times

reinstall (or better yet, uninstall then install) the software

is it set to the correct port? Mine is LTP 1.

Let me suggest something else before you go and reinstall the drivers for it. Whether your printer uses a parallel or USB cable, then do the following:

1. Turn off both the computer and the printer.
2. Unplug the cable from both the computer and printer.
3. Plug it back into both ends again.
4. Turn the printer and computer on again -- in that order.

Does that help?

usually a blinking light means that there's a paperjam/no paper/sleep mode... but I see you figured it out!
