Well, it's actually still in beta. It's only a prerelease.
I think the actual Firefox 1.0 is released on October 11.

I think M$ misplaced their decimal on IE version 6; It’s IE

Anyways.... Rock on Firefox!

If you want firefox to emulate the best browser,
Opera (opera.com), in its unregistered state, you can install
adbar (squarefree.com).

I'm using it now. Just two complaints (pretty minor):
1) starts up slow. I don't understand why it starts up slow. It just does. Maybe it'll go away after a restart.
2) clicking on links open up a new window. Why don't they open in a new tab? More importantly, why can't I change it?
Other than that, I love it, especially the MOUSE GESTURES!! and AD BLOCKING!!
yay. I <3 extensions.

If you have three buttons or a wheel, the middle one is the middle click.

you dont need a middle mouse button to use firefox, you could do what smartypants said and use ctrl, its a very useful feature on this forum for me, i just middle mouse click the threads then just go through them

I think there is also an extension/plugin you can get that will setup the "open in new window" to automatically open in new tabs instead of new windows.

great, I'll look for it
speaking of extensions, Adblock is seriously the best thing I've ever downloaded - it blocks EVERY ad, pop-ups, pup-unders, even the in-page banner ads.

How long do you have? This might take a while
First and foremost, it's 1,000,000 times more secure than IE will ever be (just killing ActiveX and running Sun's Java will do tons for IE's security).
Tabbed browsing, rather than open a new browser window for each page you can open new tabs across the top (or bottom) of the browser, each one being a new page. I'm not sure if IE is adding this but I'm pretty sure you can download add-ons for IE that will give it that ability.
Faster and smaller. Nuff said.
Based on Mozilla, which is open source (FireFox is as well isn't it?) It means that anyone can look at the code that makes up the program, fix or update it if they feel the need to (unlike Micorsoft's IE which will now only be updated for XP SP2, if you run anything else, good luck with your life).
Extensions, extensions, extensions.... I've seen everything from card games to editors to the awesome Adblock to well... just about anything.
It's not a creation of the tyrant Gates. The authors are tyring to bring something usefull that people want, how they want it, rather than shove whatever garbage down the throats of people that they feel is great.
Who wants to take over from there?

It actually works properly with CSS and supports PNG alpha transparency.
