you could download load it like 2 weeks ago on their site, they called it the "IT" or "Dev" version, but the only difference is that you couldnt get it throught windows update until now, i like sp2 alot

Something to note, if I recall correctly, Microsoft itself is recommending to it's employees not to install the service pack because it creates software conflicts with other programs. Which programs exactly, I don't really know.

This was heresay, but it may be worth looking into.

Although... many people I've talked to haven't experience any problems. I own most of the games on that list... I'll mess around and get back to you guys... :thumb:

the only program I have on that list is YIM, and that one really doesn't count if you look at the details.

NOOOO DON'T DOWNLOAD! Windows XP is terribleness. If ya get updates, it won't delete old unused registry keys. And xp sucks anyway

When I just installed SP2 a few minutes ago, I could not even boot up the OS normally. All I got was a blue screen with the "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" error or something like that. (It quickly automatically reboots once it shows that blue screen.) I had to go into safe mode, and do a system restore back to SP1, which has been flawless so far (latest drivers, no device errors, no viruses, etc.).

I will have to look into what possibly is making my system upset with SP2, but for your information, you can say this SP2 could possibly cause a great deal of trouble with your system, and I am not referring to the firewall, games, or IM clients here.

Jeez, not another NEEDED update from these guys...I know they have many users on different spectrums of the world, but if their Software Engineers could just develop an OS without the holes we wouldn't need to patch up their problems from the start.

Also the SP2 takes up major space, Files may appear to be empty with an older redirector and programs will run slower when sharing them on a network share.
