Lost file?

This is starting to drive me insane.

Earlier tonight, I torrented One Piece episode 191. I know where I saved the file to, it was the same place I save all my One Piece episodes. I went to go watch the episode, and when I went to the folder, the episode wasn't there. I ran a search on my computer for the file, and it didn't appear.

Frustrated, I went to torrent it again. The problem is, when I click on the torrent on the site I go to, the torrent window pops up, shows that I have completely downloaded the file, and continues uploading it to other people torrenting!

Obviously, I can't possibly be uploading a file I don't have to other people. And if the window says it's completely downloaded, it has to be on my computer SOMEWHERE. So why can't my search option find it? Where could it possibly be? And if it can't be found, how do I make it so I can actually retorrent it from the site?

check your Docs&Settings\user\My Recent Documents folder, i've accidently dropped a few torrents in there before.

You could also do a file search for files over, say, 100 MB in size (or whatever the size/ep is).

how do you do that from a DOS prompt? (I know how to in a Unix environment, but DOS seems to be a somewhat different animal)

You mean by name or by size?

dir *partOfFilename* /a /s
the /a allows showing of hidden files, the /s searches subfolders

Some torrent programs also have an option to show the place the file was downloaded to. If it's on your drive but in a weird place, that could help you find it. Try right clicking the torrent and looking for something like "Open Destination Folder."
