Malware help!

My computer is having major... issues... I'm being told there's a critiacl error somewghere and my system is exsposed and can me accessed by remote users... I'm about ready to simply reinstall the OS.

Spyware S&D
Virus Scan (AVG)
Lavasoft Adaware
Then reinstall the OS if nothing works

Have you tried to restore your computer to an earlier point in time or do you not have XP?

Start--> Control Panel-->Performance and Maintenence-->System Restore (under "See Also")

This will reset your registry to an earlier point in time (the last time you or Windows made one). It won't affect data, but if you installed a program after your last restore point the program will need to be reinstalled. I find that this sometimes gets rid of the malware problem by getting them out of the system.

And if you don't like the results it can be undone. It's good to create save points regularly.

Erm, save points? Well loosing a program is no big deal then. I'll have all my music and pictures, right?
