Why did my computer do that and restart on it's own?
Ok, I went to load AOL. It went to do it's little connection thing. The was a box like one that pops up when it has trouble connecting. It said something about TCP or TCIP or something. Quickly, the computer flashed a bright blue screen with white text written over most of it. When I hardly got the chance to glance at it, it shut down and restarted on itsown. What happened?
When I feel blue, I start breathing again.

You use win xp?
I have experienced the same thing. If it does not happend often, it is not a problem. probably something wrong with the network... because it said something about tcp ip, and then windows reacted in an overprotective way... Bil Gates is funny that way

im not sure that it may be spyware. Stuff like this happened to me a lot on ME, and sometimes on XP. Is it a possibility that it could be a driver issue? My computer has driver issues with it's wireless USB adapter.

When it has happen with me I think it's often a complication in the windows registry. The white text on the blue back says somthing like "failure in registry entry 0000035399003000XXX446XXXX"(and a lot more than that) kind of stuff... If the problem is only once I think windows fixed it, or it was only this one time the failure happened. but if it happend all the time, the program has written in some wrong values or something in the registry that makes windows alert *danger* - I think it can be fixed by 1. instaling the program again 2.updating windows 3. manually fix the registry or 4. use an alternative program
Maybe it can be something wrong with the hard drive surface, so you could try to run a defragmenting tool to check it. Viruses dont do thing like that, I think, neither do spyware.

I've been running XP on two different machines for a long time, and have never had this problem.
My immediate thought is "virus"; my second thought is indeed the registry. Without actually playing around a little with the particular machine, though, it's kind of hard to say.
Have you Googled the issue? If it is indeed common, there is probably some Internet commentary on it.
