Aargh! My printers disappeared!

Postby Bobtheduck » Fri Jul 09, 2004 6:45 pm

XP, Celeron, Emachines T1100, Firefox, 256 megs of ram...

My printers keep disappearing... I've got 5 listings for printer (2 are duplicates of my physical printer, the other two are PDF writers) but they all disappeared. It gives me an error message when I try to add a printer, too. I did a virus scan on trendmicro, and I did a spyware scan with Spybot search and destroy... Anyone have a clue what could be happening? I mean, my printer is a pretty important piece of hardware, and the PDF conversion software is VERY important because that's how I'll be getting my book to cafépress... What would cause all of the listings in printers to disappear and lock me out from adding more?

Alright, this might get complicated, I hope it doesn't sound too tricky.

Go to your Control Panel. It can usually be accessed through the Start menu. Go to "Printers and Faxes." If you have no printers there, then reinstall them. If there are, and they won't work, uninstall them and reinstall them again. Then reboot your computer.

If this doesn't work then I don't know what's up.

Money, get away
Get a good job with good pay and you're okay
And all and all you're just another brick in the wall
Shoutin’ in the street gonna take on the world some day
But Bismallah will not let me go
Because I'll see you on the dark side of the moon

Tommy used to work on the docks
Union's been on strike
Bright eyes burning like fire
And exposing every weakness
However carefully hidden by the kids

Who will love a little Sparrow
Who's traveled far and cries for rest
Spare him his life from this monstrosity

I've seen a million faces and I've rocked them all
And if the band youre in starts playing different tunes
We will we will rock you
We will we will rock you!

When I try to reinstall it, it says "This operation cannot be performed"

O_o

And ALL the listings are gone, both hardware (my actual printer) and software... This is rediculous...
