this is not about me

This testimonial, as the thread title indicates, is not about me. This is about my dad. I owe a lot to God and him. This is his story.
My dad is not from here. He was born on the outskirts of the capital of El Salvador, San Salvador. His was a broken family…no father, practically no mother, and raised by his grandmother. Due to the bloody civil war taking place in that Central American country, my dad immigrated illegally to the U.S. to find work. But God had other plans. After a while, my dad found my mom and they got married. About a month after they got hitched, they also did something great- accepted Jesus Christ into their lives. The dedication, loyalty and faithfulness my dad put into the Holy One was amazing. My dad committed himself totally to Him. And because my dad did that, God was able to use him to bless my mom, my brothers and me. Because of my dad’s decision, God was able to change my life. thanks, but "cool" wound't be the word i'd usually use to describe him...determined and committed is what i usually use. but thanks.

I'm thankful you have such a wonderful Christian for a dad, Ice. That is so nice to hear these days, a son singing the praises of his father. God bless.
